Dear Colleagues,
I had the opportunity to talk with my friend and colleague, Grant Lichtman - @GrantLichtman - last week in Atlanta. Grant has been traveling the country and spent some time in Atlanta and the southeast visiting schools and talking about the future of education. His blog can be found here with great stories about many of our schools. I especially enjoyed the November 1st posting about measuring mission at Albermarle County Public Schools. This is a question that I believe our schools need to be asking and here is a great graphic representation of the work they are doing:
As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, and hopefully break, for many of us, I am truly thankful for many things in my life - family, friends, good health, and the opportunity to do work I love and believe is very important. Ultimately everything we all do every day is about the success of the children in our schools. I cannot imagine that there is anything more important!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.
