Dear Colleagues, 

 

I recently had the opportunity to attend, for the second time, the Hathaway Brown Education Innovation Summit. (Click here for more information) Each time I have left with a great feeling of optimism for the future of our schools. Each summit was filled with sessions primarily by educators, sharing with other educators, the innovations they have seen or created in their schools. An important message conveyed was that each of these innovations was not always successful. Our educational models have traditionally not been accepting of failure; but the schools and educators who are successful are the ones that have been provided the opportunity to fail, learn from those failures and eventually succeed.
