Bishop Carter's Town Hall Meetings
The Florida Conference is hosting a regional town hall gathering with Bishop Carter at Trinity on September 20 at 6pm. Among many things, these gatherings are meant to be a chance to connect, hear your concerns, understand your context, grow connections and answer your questions.  There are also some exciting initiatives that Bishop Carter would like to share with you, including information about Fresh Expressions, the Nehemiah project and our new initiative to connect every church with a local school serving at risk children. You can click (here) for more information on the town hall and (here) to submit a question and RSVP. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Because of the size and scope of the event, we are asking you, Trinity, to help us be welcoming to our Conference that evening by serving as greeters and refreshment hosts. If you are able to be of service, please click (here) to email Shannon.
Mission Box
This week's Mission Box is for our Sister-Church in Cienfuegos, Cuba - Trinity's sister-church since 2002.  Through annual mission trips, we have become close friends, and know they need our help to complete the rebuilding of their church after the 2005 hurricane. The funds will be used for building needs and salary support. Pastors in Cuba receive only about $25 per month.

Another mission trip is planned for Spring of 2017. If interested, contact Ted Grueser soon, as the trip is filling up.
Louisiana Flood Bucket Drive
We will be hosting a church-wide packing event on September 11 starting at 5:30pm with a community dinner and packing at 6pm. If you would like to support this effort, click here for the list of needed supplies or here to give online (choose UMCOR flood buckets). Please make all supply and cash donations by this Thursday, September 8th. Donations can be dropped off in the blue bins in the Education Building lobby or the Narthex of the Worship Center. As part of a competition with area churches, our goal is to complete 150 buckets, please help us meet this goal!
Are you looking for another way to help the people of Louisiana?
Trinity will be taking a team to Baton Rouge from September 25 - October 1. We will be working with Revive 225, an outreach ministry of First Methodist Church Baton Rouge to work alongside homeowners and Baton Rouge residents to help clean and remove debris. Your scope of work could include: debris/mud/dirt removal, surface and appliance cleaning, sheetrock/wall removal, spraying of bleach to deter growth of mold. If you are interested in being a part of this team please contact Ted Grueser
Appreciation Luncheon
You are invited to attend an appreciation luncheon and training for our Usher teams and Communion Servers and Stewards on  September 11, after the 11am service in the Youth Bldg. We will use this time for fellowship and to review the duties of these important roles. Catherine and  Steve will also be taking this time to answer any questions and share their vision for the distribution of Holy Communion. We hope that you will be able to attend, and please invite anyone who may like to be involved in these ministries. RSVP to Alice Wallis to let us know you will be there!
Can you be an "encourager" for a student?
The SMILE mentoring program for 3rd - 5th graders is in its 2nd year and needs 50 volunteers to come during lunch once a week. This program is a Faith Mission partnership with Greenhouse Church and Rawlings to support and encourage students who may most benefit. Orientations will be held at Rawlings on Sep. 7 (11a) and Sep. 15 (1:30p). Please contact Ward or download this card for more info.
To better improve our security, we need to make changes to our security system. If you have a code to the alarm system, please email Susan immediately.
