No April Fool's

The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.  When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread (John 21: 8, 9).

John wanted to make sure that his readers understood that this Resurrection of Jesus was real, not a mirage, not an April Fool's story, not a figment of imagination, but real, and his detailed account confirms that: specific, tangible things: fish, burning coals, cooking fish, bread.

I'm so grateful our Easter Faith is tangible, real, sensory, connecting with every day, and with every day concerns, like eating, worrying, rejoicing.  Because Jesus was fully human, we are to live fully human too and be concerned about other human beings, and honoring their dignity and the image of God within them.

Just as Jesus did then, he invites us today to a meal, to fellowship with him.

God bless, Dan

P.S. There is room for 7 more people to ride on our Trinity bus down to Ocala this Sunday, April 3rd (yesterday the wrong day of Saturday was accidentally written) to make the gifts of prayer beads for General Conference. The bus will leave Trinity parking lot at 1:00.  Contact Jim Cook for more details.

P.S.S.  For anyone involved in fostering and/or adopting as well as therapists, pediatricians, babysitters, etc, you will want to check out the simulcast April 8 & 9 in the Youth Building.  Contact Elise Caton for more info.  This is such an important ministry.
