Dear Trinity Family,
In case you missed it Sunday, here is the very exciting announcement of who our Bishop is appointing to be the next Senior Pastors of Trinity UMC: The Rev Catherine Fluck Price and Rev Steve Price. I made this announcement as a part of my sermon, and you can watch it here, in addition, Kelly and Rev. Aaron drove down to Bradenton, FL and recorded an excellent video of Steve and Catherine, which you can watch here. I am so happy, ecstatic about Catherine and Steve coming here to Trinity. This has been a matter of prayerful discussion among the Bishop, Cabinet (DS's), Jan and I and Catherine and Steve for the past two years, and we all have felt God's leading in this. More recently, our Transition Team has felt the same affirmation. Catherine grew up at Trinity, starting when she was 18 months old, was nurtured by our children's ministry, youth and Sonlight ministry, and received her call to ministry here. She and Steve were married at Trinity (on 8th Ave). She knows Trinity. 19 years ago, she and Steve were given a piece of ground in the Bradenton area and told: "Start a Church." And, oh my, but they did; it has grown and grown and is one of the strongest churches today in the Florida UM Conference.
Steve and Catherine are both so, so sharp, so capable, so spiritually in tune - with God and with each other. They radiate love. Steve is a nationally ranked tennis player, is an accomplished musician and singer. They both are excellent preachers and communicators; they're visionaries who also pay close attention to getting infrastructure right. I could go on and on, but you get the picture: this is a very exciting time for all of us who love Trinity. Jan and I are thrilled and I know many of you who know Steve and Catherine are and the rest of you will be as soon as you get to meet them. Oh, one more thing: Catherine's parents are Richard and Pat Fluck, stalwart and faithful members of Trinity for the past 50+ years.
There are a lot of great things happening at Trinity this coming week and weekend, I'll mention here, but see more details below:- Empowered to Connect simulcast event Fri/Sat - you'll need to give it a better title here (I can't find it right now).
- Pamela Dillard in concert at Trinity, April 10 at 3.
- Trinity's Dr. Jessica Harland-Jacobs (UF Prof of British History) will present a lecture: "Easter Rising, The Road to Irish Independence," April 12 at 7 (211); this is a follow up to the popular presentation of "Celtic Nights: Spirit of Freedom" production at the Phillips Center on April 7.
- Trinity's own, Timeelah Adamson will be singing in Puccini's La Boheme (Rent and Moonstruck are based on this opera), April 15 at 7:30, the Phillips Center.
- Save the date of April 27 (noon) for a luncheon with our good friend, Troy Holloway.
That's all for now. God bless, Dan

A Message from Rev. AaronEmail | Blog | Twitter
Friends, this Wednesday we continue our sermon series at the 6:35 service in Trinity Chapel with "God's People: Called to Forgiveness" and Psalm 51. Hope to see you there.
Also, as I announced on Sunday, we have 36 couples who are seeking to strengthen their marriages and participating in The Marriage Course on Thursday nights over the next several weeks - while their 50 children enjoy time with our incredible childcare staff! I ask that you keep them (and everyone who works behind the scenes to make The Marriage Course a success) in prayer.
Finally, our mission team to Jamaica leaves on Saturday, including Ted Grueser, Erin Cushing, and Kelly Ping and her father. I will be joining them on Sunday. Please remember us in your prayers for safe travel and for God to work in and through us during the week ahead.
Grace and peace,
Aaron
