A Message from Rev. Aaron
Email | Blog | Twitter

Friends,
I love this prayer written by George Herbert, seventeenth century English poet and Anglican priest, and wanted to share it with you.

"Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleases me,
As if thy blessings had spare days;
But such a heart whose very pulse may be Thy praise."

Happy Thanksgiving!

Grace and peace be with you,
Rev. Aaron

P.S. With Advent beginning on November 29, we've created a smart phone lock screen image that is consistent with this year's theme (Come and Worship). You can download it here, I encourage you to use this as a daily prayer throughout the season.

  • Mission Box - This Sunday begins the season of Advent, our time to celebrate the birth of Jesus and the wonder of His love for us.  We want to share this love with the promise of the new FUMCH Madison Youth Ranch, a place of love and safety for children who are desperately in need of both.  We continue to support the building of this special ministry that exemplifies the Wonder of His love.
  • We hope this finds you readying yourself for Thanksgiving with family and friends.  Because of your participation, more than 1,300 families in our area will also have a complete Thanksgiving meal.  Everyone didn't get a chance to see the smiles of families walking out with their basket and turkey or feel the hug of the social workers that picked up meals for their referred families but please know this program is a blessing felt by our neighbors.  Thank you for being a part of this wonderful program and Happy Thanksgiving.
Faith Mission

  • Thanksgiving - an extended holiday weekend devoted to gratitude (topped off with a wonderful meal and football!) and one of my favorite times of the year.  For all those connected with Faith Mission, there is much to be thankful for this year.
    • The volunteers who have cleaned, repaired, and painted much of the facility;
    • The volunteers who served out in the neighborhood on special events and projects (like at Rawlings Elementary and at Village Green & Forest Apartments);
    • The volunteers who serve regularly at Kids Count and SNAP;
    • The volunteers who are serving as mentors at Rawlings Elementary this year;
    • The skilled contractors who have worked on roofing, audio-visual, air conditioning, doors, networking, and much more;
    • The Kids Count, SNAP, Girl Scout, and Rawlings staff who are so supportive of the children in the neighborhood;
    • The neighborhood leadership and residents who are working together to enhance well-being of families;
    • The churches who are serving in committed partnership; &
    • Trinity UMC for the many ways it is supporting the work of Faith Mission.
This new mission and neighborhood center is in gratitude to the people and organizations who are walking alongside one another and working together for the physical, emotional, financial, and spiritual well-being of us all.  Many blessings this Thanksgiving.
