Worship: Sundays @ 8:15 am, 9:40 am, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm
Dear Trinity Family,

Thank you.  We're off to a great start in reaching our 2016 budget goal, as you can see from the thermometer below - already over 1/3 of the way home!

Several of you brought your "estimate of giving" card to church this past Sunday.  If you didn't, would you please bring it Sunday, mail it in, contact Laura, or fill it out online? Otherwise, we will need to send another card and letter to everyone we haven't heard from in a couple of weeks.

I know we are all grateful (a) for our young families and the great videos they are producing, (b) those who are taking and providing the great photos - you have one more Sunday to get yours taken, (c) the finance committee for stewarding carefully and wisely your gifts (for year-to-date through October, our expenses are only $1,334 over income (that is amazing!), and (d) the call of Christ on our lives to "Go and make Disciples!" and be a part of the most compelling purpose and vision, one with eternal dimensions!  Thanks.  Your gifts absolutely do make a difference!

Love and Prayers,

Worship This Week

Several things this week:
  • I'd like to thank Russ Crowder for taking the photographs for our 2015 Fall Focus on Generosity this past Sunday. I processed the photos for another 70 of you today and I know you won't be disappointed. The photos will be on a table in the back of the Worship Center for you to pick up this Sunday. Also, as Dan already mentioned, if you haven't yet had your photograph taken, this will be the last Sunday!
  • I'm really looking forward to this week's 6:35 service on Wednesday in the Chapel. We will have special guest speakers, some elements to help us close out the time we've spent on the Sermon on the Mount over the past several weeks, and I will have the privilege to lead music! See you there!
  • FreshExpressionsI hope you'll consider joining me for something really exciting on November 21st. Trinity is one of four churches in the Florida Conference hosting a "Fresh Expressions Vision Day" from 9:30 to 3:30. Fresh Expressions is a movement that is cultivating new kinds of church alongside existing congregations in order to reach a changing world.  Begun in England nearly 10 years ago, it has resulted in the birth of over 3,000 new communities in the UK alone.  Fresh Expressions has spread to Australia, Canada, and New Zealand; and it is now taking shape in the US. At its heart, Fresh Expressions is about empowering and equipping God's people to develop creative expressions of church that can reach the increasing diversity of our post-Christian society. Because of Bishop Ken Carter's enthusiasm for Fresh Expressions, and through support from the Florida Conference, the discounted cost for this event is only $10 (includes lunch and materials). It's going to be a great event! Register here and if you have any questions, please email me.
  • You might remember that last year I encouraged you to sign up to receive Advent devotionals from LEC Family. My wife, Lenora, and I are contributors this year (along with many others) and would love to have you join us for this special time. You can sign up to receive the devotionals here.
  • Finally, speaking of Lenora, if you happen to see her, please welcome her to Trinity's staff. She has joined us part-time to partner with Rosemary Davis and Pat Kilby in Parish Visitation. Also, tell her, "Congratulations!" She received notification over the weekend that she has been granted an interview with the Board of Ordained Ministry in January, when they will consider her application for Provisional Elder.

Cleft repair surgery is simple and the life changing transformation is immediate. Their sustainable model provides training and funding to empower local doctors in 85+ developing countries to provide 100% free cleft repair surgery in their communities.

There are limited spots available so act fast.  We will have a short info meeting November 15 after the 11:00 service in the Missions office.  There are scholarships available so don't let money stop you from taking advantage of God using you in the world.
  • On Tuesdays in November we will offer a yummy baked potato lunch in the Atrium kitchen from 11:30am-1pm to support Family Promise. Bring one of the listed items or a $5 donation in exchange for a baked potato with all the fix'ins (deodorant, razors, shower gel, lotion, toothpaste, basic meds {otc Tylenol for kids, tummy trouble meds and tylenol for adults}, bath towels or wash cloths).

  • John Perkins is one of the founders of Christian community development and his decades of work with Mississippi families in poverty has influenced many.  At 85, Dr. Perkins is still going strong and in January he will bring his Gospel message of strengthening families and communities to Gainesville for a special event organized by Greenhouse Church.  More info will come as the event details are made public.
  • This week with Faith Mission the Kids Count after school program will be in session each day except Veterans Day, and the schedule will be the same for the new mentors for Rawlings students.  The Stop Now & Plan early intervention program for boys and their parents will be in session Tuesday evening.  On Friday we'll have the first Kids Count and Stop Now & Plan family meal gathering that we hope to become a monthly event.  Please keep the children and families in these programs in your prayers.

  • We would love for you to join us for any or all of our Veteran's Day plans tomorrow.  We will be going to the Annual Veterans Day Celebration at the Veteran's Memorial in Kanapaha Park.  The Celebration starts at 9:30am, the program begins at 10:15.  We will get there just a few minutes before 10am, bring a lawn chair of your own.  Click here for a link to the program.  Afterwards we will go grab a quick lunch at Moe's so we can catch the 12:45 showing of the movie "Woodlawn" at the Regal Theater on Newberry Road.  Pick up will be at the theater at 3pm.  Bring lunch and movie money, and we will buy the popcorn.  Parents and Siblings are welcome to join us.  If you need a ride from the park to the Moes and a movie please let us know ahead of time so that we are sure to have room in the vehicles for you.
  • This Sunday at UMYF we will have our annual Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner!  This tradition has quickly become a holiday favorite.  The youth staff provides the main course, and the youth each bring in a favorite Thanksgiving side dish to share.  So start practicing those recipes!  After we eat we will go out and collect canned goods for Trinity's Thanksgiving Baskets and return to sort them.  We will go from 5:30-8:30 and youth either bring a side dish or $3 for dinner (but we prefer the side dish).
