Prayer - Giving Thanks

Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, Jesus gave thanks and broke the loaves (Mark 6:41).

Jesus prayed over the fish and loaves before he multiplied them to feed 5,000.  Jesus gave thanks over the meal, and in so doing invites, encourages, wants us to express our thanks to God - for all things, for the food.  And here's the thing:  while your meal probably won't expand to feed 5,000, your praying will influence your children who may grow up to care for 5,000!  Your giving thanks is catalytic, it is life forming, life enhancing, because:

A. It's the right thing to do,

B. It generates a spirit of gratitude and thankfulness.

C. It reminds us that all good things come from God.

D. It reminds us that we belong to God and are not self sufficient.

Praying before meals - it's what Jesus did; it's what we are called to do; it's good for us.

Love and prayers, Dan
