Worship: Sundays @ 8:15 am, 9:40 am, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm
Trinity family,

Please continue to pray for Pastor Dan and his wife Jan throughout the month of July - that they enjoy Sabbath rest and experience renewal of body, mind, and spirit while they are away on vacation. Pray also for the Hale family (Jim's service is this morning) and the Taylor family (MaryAnn's service will be at 10:00 am on August 1st), as they mourn the loss of their loved ones. Finally, pray for the high school students and their adult partners leaving for their mission trip with ASP to Tennessee on Saturday and the middle school students and their adult chaperones leaving for their mission trip with SIFAT to Alabama on Sunday.

I know many of you have been away on summer vacations and haven't seen the progress being made on our new Welcome Center, so here is a photograph I shot Sunday morning.

It's looking great! We are excited to dedicate this structure in August and to use it to take our Sunday morning hospitality ministry to the next level so that Trinity is the most welcoming church we can be. But this building isn't going to make that happen. We need YOUR help to do it! We need:
A.  80 Greeters - your team will be "on" once or twice a month.
B.  20 Golf Cart Drivers - you'll be "on" once a month or so.
C.  20 Coffee makers/servers - you'll be "on" once every 6 weeks. Please email Tammy Karafa and say "Yes, sign me up!"

We will have an orientation meeting over lunch on Sunday, August 9 at noon for all of our volunteers.

In addition - please wear your name tag.  We're getting a machine that will make them "on the spot" for $2.00.  It should be here in a couple of weeks. We'll let you know.

One more thing...this week's video in our series "Summer of Shorts" which focuses on the fourth component of our membership covenant - service. Trinity has no shortage of places to serve God and others inside the walls of our church using the gifts God has given you - whether you help teach a children's Sunday school class or volunteer with our youth or did I mention we need greeters? With two mission trips having already happened this summer, two leaving this week and one at the end of the month, Trinity also provides excellent opportunities to serve God and others beyond the walls of our church. One of my favorite quotes comes from St. Teresa of Avila, "Christ has no body now, but yours. No hands, no feet on earth, but yours. Yours are the eyes through which Christ looks compassion into the world. Yours are the feet with which Christ walks to do good. Yours are the hands with which Christ blesses the world." How is God calling you to serve?

Grace and peace,

Aaron

Missions
  • This week's Mission Box is for Nkohma, the community that Trinity supports through Y-Malawi and World Vision. Your gift saves lives and families by providing the means to grow food, education, health care, and spiritual growth.  We have a team of 6 traveling to Nkohma, Malawi at the end of July who will be able to see and report changes we have made in this community.

  • Family Promise (IHN) will begin serving homeless children and their families again when the first guests arrive at Trinity on Sunday, July 19.  Opportunities are available to serve as hosts in the evening, overnight, or on Saturday, July 25.  Several drivers to transport guests each morning and afternoon are especially needed.  Please consider helping to make Trinity a "place to call home" for these families in need. For more information, or to volunteer, please contact Marilyn Clugston.
