Worship: Sundays @ 8:15 am, 9:40 am, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm | Fridays @ 7:00 pm
Dear Friends, our new Welcome Center will be completed around the end of July, and we're going to use this as the occasion to launch something really special:  "Extravagant Welcoming" and we want YOU to be a part of it.  Here's the plan:

1.  Dust off your name tags or create new ones, or order new ones through our office.  Starting August 2, we want every member of Trinity to wear a name tag on Sunday.

2.  Volunteer to be a part of our "Extravagant Welcoming" team - we need about 12 "Greeters" for each worship service - in the parking lots, near the church and around the Coffee Hub.  You can join the team by just emailing Tammy and saying "I'll serve" - and someone will contact you.

3.  Volunteer to be a part of the golf cart ministry.  Can you drive?  Are you willing to serve?  Contact Tammy.

4.  Volunteer to be a part of the Coffee Servers ministry.  The coffee arrangements at the new Welcome Center are going to be awesome; we need your help.  Contact Tammy.

5.  Our thanks to Connie Quincey and Steve & Erica Cuneo for co-leading this very important ministry; contact them and offer to help.

6.  Beginning August 2, I'll begin a 3-part sermon series on "Extravagant Welcoming" - Trinity is going to become THE most welcoming church in Florida!  We love God, we love Jesus and we love people; we want to demonstrate that in dynamic ways, so that everyone who comes onto our campus is greeted, is welcomed, is made to feel included and wanted.  Our worship services will be designed to welcome warmly and invite to an ever deepening relationship with Jesus.  This will take all of us doing our part. August 23 is "start back" Sunday, and we want to be fully ready to "welcome extravagantly" everyone God brings our way.

Jesus told many parables about God's extravagant welcoming - whether in welcoming home a lost son, discovering a lost coin, retrieving a lost sheep, or throwing a huge party and going out into the highways and byways inviting in everyone, everyone - to the party.  That's what we'll be doing too!  Can we count on YOU?

Thanks and God bless, Dan

P.S.  I love Father's Day, because I think Fathers are super important, and I'm looking forward to preaching this Sunday, both to honor fathers and encourage fathers and father figures.  I hope to see you at Church!

P.S.S.  Don't forget to order your engraved brick before June 30 - contact Tammy. And, I hope many of you will come tomorrow night, Wednesday, at 7:15, to hear UF Professor, Dr. Matthew Jacobs, also a part of our Trinity family, as he speaks on the Middle East:  "ISIS, who is it, where did it come from, where is it going, and what should the US do about it?"  Matt teaches about US policy in the Middle East.

A Word from Rev. Aaron
Three things:
1. This week I am serving as the Pastor-in-Residence for the Grandparents and Me Camp at Warren Willis Camp. Please join me in prayer for all the campers! After I get back from camp, I'll be meeting Sonlight in Nashville and finishing out the tour with them. Please join me in prayer for the choir, band, and chaperones as they minister with their music this week.
2. You won't want to miss the 6:35 service this week, Rev. Marvin Celso will be preaching!
3. The next video in our series "Summer of Shorts" comes just in time for Father's Day. In this moving illustration, a young man reflects on his relationship with his father, realizing the impact that seeing his father's faith lived out made on him. How are you living out your faith in your everyday, ordinary life and who might be watching?
  • This week's mission box supports Food4Kids. F4K is a 100% volunteer-run program that sends school children home with a backpack filled with food for the weekend.  Teachers identify children in their school and families are screened through principals in conjunction with F4K.  More than 1,200 children are fed each month out of 15 different schools.

  • The Living Water Mission Trip to Guatemala, September 19-26, 2015 has spots available.  The work is digging a water well and teaching water hygiene to the community, but the joy is the fellowship with the team and the community and serving in a beautiful country. The trip cost is $2,000 and includes airfare, meals and accommodations. The trip is limited to 12 people, ages 14 and older. If you are interested in participating, or more information about trip specifics, please email Ted.

  • We Need Your Help! We are looking for a couple people that would be interested in helping a lady that trains service dogs for veterans.  It would include completing fencing, painting blocks, finishing landscaping and putting together a dog agility course for service puppy training. If you are interested please contact Missions for more information.

Faith Mission
Faith Mission, located at 3701 NE 15th Street, is a church and neighborhood collaboration. Interested in checking out Methodist ministries and initiatives similar to Faith Mission? Some examples in Florida include Grace Place for Children and Families (Naples); Grace Community Center (North Fort Myers); South Street Ministry (Orlando); and St Luke's UMC (Orlando).

This week at Faith Mission:
  • On Tuesday, Faith Mission is hosting a roundtable with people from the Southwest Advocacy Group (SWAG), Greenhouse Church, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and others with local experience in community development.  Participants will share about their experiences of building close and lasting relationships with residents.
  • We're continuing neighborhood outreach in the Highland Court Manor subdivision to introduce Faith Mission and gather input using our survey.
  • On Saturday, we will have a roundtable with residents of the Village Green & Forest apartment complex to further introduce Faith Mission, gather input, and discuss the possibility of bringing UF's Mobile Outreach Clinic to the area regularly.
  • Many changes are coming for Rawlings Elementary in August.  Kindergarteners who live near Rawlings will go to Duval (now an early learning center), 1st through 5th graders from the Duval area will come to Rawlings, and a Fine Arts Magnet Program is being created for all students at Rawlings.  Both Faith Mission and Kids Count are working with school system leaders to do what each organization can do to help make these changes have the most positive impact for the children.

Adult Ministry
  • Invitation To Romans - 8 sessions, Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30 PM, June 24th - August 12th. Exploring how people have interpreted Romans through the ages is a good lens to view the history of Christianity itself.  Compare what Paul writes in Romans to what theologians like Augustine, Luther, and Calvin say in trying to understand Paul in their time.  The hope of this course is that participants have a more informed commitment to Paul's radical vision of God's relationship to both Christians and Jews and to their relationship to each other.  This study is meaty and extremely enjoyable for those students with some familiarity of Romans and with a strong biblical foundation to rely on.  Sign up at worship or click here. Books are available at the bookstore for $15.
  • Trinity Women: Join Kim Lewerenz for an online study this summer with Proverbs 31 Ministries.  The study will run June 22 - July 31.  We will be reading The Mended Heart: God's Healing for Your Broken Places by Suzanne Eller.  Register online for the class, and when the study begins you will receive emails throughout the week to help you follow along with the reading.  You can purchase the book directly with Proverbs 31 Ministries or contact Kim to order the book.  The cost will be $15. Invite friends to join along!
  • Dan and Jan will be leading a trip along the coast of Chile, around Cape Horn, up the coast of Argentina and Uruguay from January 16 - 30, 2016, with special guest lecturer, our own Dr. Bob Westin.  It would be grand to have many of you from Trinity join us.  You can access the itinerary here. If you are interested in the trip email Tammy.
