Dear Friends,

I would like your help - or your kids' help - for my upcoming sermon.  This past Sunday one of our young children came out of church with two great questions:

1.  Were there dinosaurs here BEFORE or AFTER Adam and Eve?
2.  How did Adam and Eve come into the world as adults and not as babies like the rest of us?

Wow!  I've loved our sharing together about these, and since then, he and I (via his Father) have had some great email exchanges around these questions - which led me to ask for your help:

Would you please send me some of your Children's (or Grandchildren's) "Questions about God" - and creation and the Bible, whatever is on their minds; I will use their questions (they will remain anonymous, unless you indicate I can share names) as the basis for my sermon on June 14, so please send them to me ASAP.  I remember so well our own children during those early years coming up with some of the best questions imaginable; such alert, curious minds they have.

By the way, I just ordered a brand new book that looks to be excellent:  The Spiritual Child, The New Science on Parenting for Health and Lifelong Thriving, by Lisa Miller, Ph.D.  I'll be passing along some insights, perhaps on the 14th, probably on Father's Day (her last chapter is "Seven Right Things: Opportunities for Spiritual Parenting), so no need to buy the book yet (it's $28!)

But, please send me some of your child's questions today or tomorrow.  Thanks.

One more thing:  one of our custodians, who is doing such a super job; he is so conscientious and hard working, but he lives far from the church, has to walk a long way to the bus stop to catch the bus to Trinity, but the closest stop to Trinity is also a long way from Trinity, so, if you know of a used scooter that we might purchase for him, that would be such a great help, both for him and for the whole custodial team.

Thanks, Dan
