A Quiet Life

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you (I Thess 4:11).

This is such a great verse!  With so much noise out there, with so many talking heads loudly wanting our attention, with so much focus in the media on the famous, notable, and often loud persons of our time, comes this corrective word:  Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life!

The quiet life, ahhhhh!  Minding your own business, working with your hands, and quietly making a difference, really the kind of difference that really matters.  I run into people in our church all the time who are quietly touching lives, often almost unaware that they are doing so!  It's beautiful.  

So, forget the headlines, the loud, the 100 most famous, most beautiful, most whatever, and lead a quiet life, a life of prayer and meditation, and then go about the business you and God have planned for the day, and oh my, what a quiet, eternal difference you will make!!
