Worship: Sundays @ 8:15 am, 9:40 am, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm | Fridays @ 7:00 pm
Dear Friends,

I can't recall a Season of Lent that has been more meaningful to me spiritually than this one.  I think the "experiential worship" and coordinated, integrated worship services have touched a spiritual note with all of us, certainly with me.  This coming Sunday, Palm Sunday, we will see Jesus as King, through the lens of John's Gospel.  I encourage you to read chapters 18, 19 of John, and count all the references, both direct and indirect, to Jesus as King.  John gives a hint of his focus in the earlier, Palm Sunday passage:  "Blessed is the King of Israel," and "See, your King is coming."  (John 12:13-15).  I'm looking forward to sharing this message with you, and you won't want to miss how the worship service will end!

If you haven't yet dedicated a Lily in memory or honor of a loved one, please feel free to do so here, or this Sunday in worship, our bulletins will have envelopes inserted for this purpose.  The dedications mean so much, and the Lilies beautify our worship center.  Don't forget: on Easter morning to bring flowers for the Blossoming Cross!

The last day to purchase tickets for the Seder meal on Maundy Thursday, April 2 is this Sunday; please see Erin Cushing, our Sonlight Director or email her here.

A large group of folks are planning to become members of Trinity during the Easter Vigil in the Chapel at noon on April 4, the Saturday before Easter.  If you would like to be a part of this, please contact Carmen, our membership secretary
.  We will love to welcome you!

Finally, we included an insert in our bulletin this past Sunday; it was a good and strong statement from our Bishop, Kenneth Carter, about the persecution of Christians across the world, and a prayer that he would like us to pray often this week.  You can access the "Bishop's Call to Prayer" here.

Rev. Dan

P.S. Thanks to the several of you who have already indicated your additional giving to Trinity in response to the recent letter from our Church Council and Finance Committee.  You are amazing, and you are generous.

A Word from Rev. Esther
We continue to (metaphorically) head toward Jerusalem and the events of Holy Week.  I'm beginning to feel a weight, as I typically do this time of year, for we cannot get to the glory of Easter without the pain of the cross.  As we continue to search ourselves this Lent, this Wednesday at the 6:35 service in the chapel we'll be looking at 'The Torture and Humiliation of the King.'  I've been struck as of late at the questions of 'why' -- why did Jesus have to suffer as he did? We'll be looking at Jesus' suffering as incredible signs of love and presence in suffering.  I hope to see you there!
A Word from Rev. Aaron
Friends, I am praying for a restful and rejuvenating Spring Break for us all. Only one more week until Holy Week! Can you believe it? I am so looking forward to all of the special worship services we have planned throughout the week and hope to see you all there. If you haven't already, be sure to buy your tickets to the Passover Seder!

I also wanted to let you know about a special opportunity coming up right after Easter. Faith Mission

Faith Mission is located at 3701 NE 15th Street.  What is Faith Mission about?  It's about collaboration - churches, neighborhood, and organizations working with one another to intentionally have a greater impact on the well-being of our community together than we can separately.  It's about kinship - working with, not doing for, the neighborhood to build a more thriving community.  And it's about grace - participating in God's Kingdom where all are transformed.

This week at Faith Mission:

  • Thanks to everyone who came out to visit Faith Mission last Thursday (and thank you also for writing prayers on the blue banner!), and special thanks to Pastor Essie Merricks, Jean Evans, Dick Schaeffer, and Debbie Herring for hosting. If you did not have the opportunity to come last week, you are very welcome to come by on Tuesday, March 31, from 3:00p to 4:30p and see the property, the facilities and renovations in progress, and the Kids Count program in action.
