Message from the President

Alumni & Friends,

Greetings from America's next great college! We are aiming high, for sure, but we are all committed to this goal.

Two years ago we made a transformational decision to raise the academic standards in our Traditional program and are realizing tangible, positive results as the percentage of students achieving presidential honors-level grades is the highest since 2006.  In addition, we have begun dorm renovations and in conjunction with Rocky Mount have started construction of a fabulous 12-court tennis center.

The Aspire adult degree program (formerly ADP) enrollment is up substantially at all three sites (Triangle, Goldsboro, and Rocky Mount). We will open a fourth site in Wilmington on January 9 offering BS degrees in business administration and teacher education.

NC Wesleyan is making great progress and we will appreciate your continued support in any way possible...through your financial gifts or recommendations to prospective students.

Yours for Wesleyan,

Jim Gray

President

A Look Back at Homecoming 2011

Homecoming 2011 was held on October 28 & 29 in Rocky Mount. It was an exciting weekend with over 100 alumni back on campus to reconnect with friends and enjoy a variety of events.

The Alumni Office partnered with the Office of Career Services to offer a first time Student and Alumni Networking Event (SANE) that allowed current students informal access to alumni in a variety of careers. Students learned about alternate career paths and received real world advice from 8 participating alumni.

Nu Gamma Phi and Pioneer Alumni Groups enjoyed special receptions and everyone was invited to a BBQ picnic at the Homecoming Football game. The weekend was capped by the Evening of Excellence dinner that inducted two alumni into the Althetics Hall of Fame and two alumni were presented with prestigious alumni awards (story above).
