Update: Elman Center
For those who missed our February meeting about the Elman Peace and Human Rights Center in Mogadishu, Somalia, below are selected views of the campus and buildings proposed for the center. Recently the German ambassador to Somalia toured the site with Ilwad Elman, director of programs and development. Germany and several other countries have expressed interest in supporting the programs of the center which include shelter and counseling for victims of domestic abuse, rehabilitation of former child soldiers, health care, vocational training, and basic education.
