Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. II Corinthians 2:14

We learn the importance of winning it seems from the cradle. As a matter of fact, babies are masters of winning. All they know to care about is getting their needs met and when they are not, everyone pays until the problem is resolved. Yet the reality is that sometimes in this life we lose. We don't come out on top in everything that we do; we may lose our first love to someone else, we lose at sports, we lose at games and sometimes we lose in situations that are really important to us. For instance we may interview for our dream job and yet another candidate is selected. That hurts! Yet this scripture says that God always causes us to triumph or to win. Is this a contradiction to our reality? God forbid! The Apostle is referring to a triumph or victory that is unique to the believer. God causes us to triumph over all who would try to hold us down, oppress us and prevent us from doing the will of God, whether men or devils. He gives us victory over the world, the reproaches, persecutions, smiles, and flatteries of it; over wicked men, by silencing them, stopping the mouths of gainsayers, refuting false teachers, and preserving the Gospel message. There have been many who have tried and continue to try and pervert the truth of the Gospel. But in spite of all opposition, we win. But not only that, He uses us to win souls for the Kingdom. He uses the very things that we go through, that are intended to draw us away from following Him, the things that the enemy wants to use to cause us to doubt Him, those things He uses as our witness and living example of what the power of God can do in a surrendered life. So even when it looks like we are losing, we are really winning as we live out God's purpose and plan for us. So repeat after me - I Always Win!

Reflect & Respond - Have you ever felt like a loser? Are you able to look back at that situation and see the Hand of God that worked in your favor? If not, begin to ask the Father to show you what you are missing.

People Helping People
Two nights ago I spoke with a Man of God, a fellow Minister of the Gospel. Several months ago he was in a horrific automobile accident, his injuries have incapacitated him for the past 6 months.  His current situation is this;  he needs surgery, and is in constant pain,  and his family situation has deteriorated over the months as well. As I ministered to him, I asked him what could we do other than pray. Without hesitation he asked that we raise an offering. He is hurting, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially.

Even as we were still talking I immediately felt in my heart to ask 50 people to donate a minimum of $25.00 to help this brother. I am doing what I believe the Lord said do, I am asking. If you are willing to help, you can go to our website and donate through Paypal. Go to:
www.vl-ministries.org, or you can mail a check to VLM, P.O. Box 354074, Palm Coast, FL. 32135. If mailing a check please note in the memo "Minister" If you cannot give, please pray. Every dime that you give will go directly to him to help him at this time of tremendous trial in his life.

This appeal is to everyone on our mailing list, especially other ministers and Pastors.

If you have questions or would like to mail your contribution directly to our brother, please call me for details.

Traveling Shoes

The work of making life better for others never stops.  We have been focused on preparing for our outreach for 2015, but we have not lost sight of the current needs in families.  Traveling Shoes is still alive and well and going strong.  Remember, if you have a child or know of a child in your community, school or church who is in need of shoes, we want to help.  Simply provide us with the following:
  • Name and address of parent or guardian
  • Age and gender of the child
  • Shoe size
That is all that we need and in short order new shoes will be on the way.  To date your generosity has made it possible for 269 children all over the United States to wear new shoes.

Today I also want to give a big shout out and "Thank You" to Mrs. Gloria Singleton of Palm Coast, Florida for her exquisite donation of the most adorable rain boots ever, along with polo and t-shirts.  Thank you Gloria and thank you Lord!

Aren't they adorable?

Do you know a little guy who needs rain boots?   Let us know!

Thought for the Day
"Are you letting culture, not scripture, determine your sexuality, how you date, how you present yourself, how you engage in certain relationships with members of the opposite sex? We need to be very clear that the way we do life is different than the rest of the world."

His Eye is on the Sparrow
His Eye is on the Sparrow

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care.[a]30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.31 So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:29-31

Last week we introduced this segment with some suggestions for what each of us can do to pay it forward.  Did you try any of the suggestions from last week?  If not, here are a few more.  Let's make a conscious effort to be kinder and to do the little things on a daily basis that make life better for others.  Ok here are a few more ideas:

  1. When you're getting fast food, buy an extra meal for a homeless person.
  2. Stand up for someone.  Lend your voice. Often the powerless, the homeless, the neglected in our world need someone to speak up for them.
  3. Take the time to teach someone a skill you know.
  4. Teach others how to make a difference in this world by setting a good example every day.
  5. When someone wants to repay you for something, ask them to pay it forward.

When you do something for others how does it make you feel?
