God Fail You? Never
"Behold, this day, I am going the way of all earth, and you know in all your hearts and all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you: all have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed." Joshua 23:14
Have you ever heard someone use the phrase when referring to a friend, "we have history." That means that they have known each other for a while and have come through some things together. It means that they have been in the trenches of life together and have had each other's back. As Joshua here addresses the nation of Israel, he reminds them to reflect on their history with God. This farewell address is designed to call to their remembrance how faithful God has been to them, to reflect on how God has fought and won every battle on their behalf. Joshua was always careful to reflect the glory for Israel's great victories toward the Lord God.
I am so glad that I have history with God. What about you? Do you remember that it is the Lord that has preserved your life, your sanity, your health and everything that you have? Can you recall other times in your life when everything seemed as though it was going wrong and it felt like it would never get better but today as you look back, you see how the mighty Hand of God got you the victory?
God Fail You? Never!
In His Service,
Faye
