I have talked about the phenomenon called Facebook before.  I am at it again, so don't mind me.  But I am fascinated by many of the posts that I read on a daily basis.  It should come as no surprise that many of my "friends" are believers, but not just believers, they are Pastors, Evangelists, Apostles etc.  It is also no secret that your position or title does not exempt you from coming under attack.  The thing that is most surprising to me is not that my "friends" are being challenged, it is oftentimes their response to it.  I actually had to look up what the word "hater" means because it appears so regularly in the comments that I read.  According to Google a hater means the following:  a person who greatly dislikes a specified person or thing. Another definition is - a negative or critical person.  I am not naive so I understand that all of us have people who probably have these feelings towards us.  However, I don't know who mine are and I am not the least bit interested in knowing who they are.  They do not occupy the forefront of my mind, nor will they ever have a place of prominence in my life.

Proverbs 25:26 says - "Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked."  The mouth of the righteous was described in Proverbs 10:11 as a "well of life." It is described as such because it is to be used to offer  comfort and refreshment  to the weary- through the just, godly and  kindly counsel it offers. But if the righteous man yields to the pressure put upon him by the wicked, and through fear or favor gives up his principles, then he can no longer give forth counsel out of a pure heart; he becomes like a fountain which has been fouled by the feet of cattle drinking at it (Ezekiel 34:18), and like a corrupted spring. Each of us must decide if we are willing to allow the wicked words, the verbal attacks of others to cause us to lose the privilege of speaking words that glorify God.  Why respond in kind  to false accusations and the, mean spirited taunts that are directed at you?  When you do, you give your "haters" a place that they should never be allowed to enter, your secret place where you meet the Lord and receive counsel, wisdom and power to make Him real to others as you live out your lives to His glory.  Is it worth it?

Live A Happier Life

I have this great little book by Meera Lester that I like to share with you from entitled, guess what?  Live A Happier Life.  It has wonderful ideas and  practical suggestions that each of us can do to improve and enhance our daily lives.  My  recommendation for today  is:

Release the Past and Appreciate the Present

You can never go back to previous moments or past events.  Once you have moved through them, they are forever gone.  Whatever is in the past that haunts you or makes you sad or fearful necessarily stays there.  It cannot be undone.  if some past event or encounter still bothers you, do what you can to process through it and let it go.  You alone give it the power it has over you.  Release it and instead focus on the present moment.  Be mindful right now of where you are, who you are and what you are doing.  Paying attention to and being fully present in each moment of your life means you truly will be "showing up for your life."

If you realize that this is for you and you are committed to embracing this change in your own life let me know.  I want to pray with you and for you that you move forward, doing what the Bible says, "13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 3:13-14.

If this is resonating with you it is time for you to become more that what you used to be.  Today is your day to step into you now!

Prayer Matters

Lisa Ivy, VLM Prayer Network Director

Have you noticed the rash of suicides among Pastors around the country?  All too often we are reading about instances of leaders who are in such despair that they see death as their only means of escape.  Join us in keeping the men and women of God lifted in prayer.  We must be the ones who hold their arms up so that they will be able to stand and finish the work that God has assigned to them.

The prayer calendar focus for today is to pray for the homeless.  Will you take a moment and thank God for the roof that He has provided for you and to seek Him on behalf of all those who don't have a place to call home.

Each month we produce a prayer calendar that focuses our prayers on a daily basis.  Would you like a copy to come directly to your email each month?  If so, email us at victoriousmin@att.net to be added to the distribution list.

Join us each Monday evening from 7:00 to 7:30pm or Wednesday morning from 6:30 to 7:00am for the Victory in Prayer Conference call.  The number is 712 432 3066, access code 930692.  Your life will be blessed and remember, Prayer Changes Everything!

Have you received Christ as your personal Savior?  If not, today is the perfect day to be saved!  Pray this prayer -

Dear Lord Jesus,

I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead.  I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In your name, amen.

If you received Christ, let us know so that we can pray for you. Email us at:  victoriousmin@att.net

Heaven rejoices when one soul comes to Christ!
