"for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes."
Proverbs 24:16
Trouble can take many forms. There are times when our interpersonal relationships just don't flow. Friends push our buttons and we theirs, family members squabble, romantic/spousal communication totally breaks down, health becomes shaky, money is unmanageable, and even our Church proves not to provide a safe haven, because we can encounter conflict there. Any one of these times can be overwhelming. The Word of God reminds us that being righteous does not give us a "get out of jail free card." Those of us who love Jesus and are committed to living for Him are not exempt from trouble. Not only are we not exempt, but we can expect to face numerous kinds and times of trouble. When we get through one thing, there will be another thing to be dealt with. But just like the loving Father that He is, He doesn't leave us wondering what to do or how things are going to turn out. We know that though trouble comes in its many forms, we will come out, we will rise again, not just from some things, but everything that is thrown at us. That is news that should cause every Blood Washed believer to give God some praise! God created us to be resilient - we are able to recoil or spring back into shape after bending, stretching, or being compressed. Even though we go through just like those who don't know the Lord, our outcomes are very different. We are not destroyed by the calamities that come in our lives. We have an elasticity that comes from being born again, we can be stretched, tried, tested, compressed, oppressed, bent and all of the above, yet we do not lose our victory. As a matter of fact when it's all said and done, we look more like Jesus than we did before. It is amazing how what should distort us, in fact through His grace, shapes us into His image. Testify and prophesy to yourself today and speak it to your own life, - I am resilient, each testing, each bending, each stretching, each oppressing is being used to conform me to His image. I am not bent out of shape, I am bent into shape, I look more like Jesus!

Know Your Bible
The purpose of the Bible quiz is to encourage each of us to spend time in searching the scriptures. To know God is to know His Word. One of the enemy's most effective tools against the believer is universal ignorance of the Word. Proverbs 3:1-2 -
"My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
2for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity."
Last week's quiz question was:
After the Babylonian exile, the Jews sought wealth and possessions for themselves. What should they have been doing?
The correct response is found in Haggai 1:2-6 - They should have been rebuilding the temple
Our correct responders for this quiz are:
Florida:
Mrs. Doris Wise
Mrs. Gloria Benjamin
Mrs. Pat Brown
Ms. Nellie Davis
Ms. Marion Shelby
New Jersey:
Mrs. Sandra Brown
Bible Quiz - 5/10/14 - Proverbs describes a "fair woman without discretion" as like a jewel of gold in what?
As a special reward for their faithfulness to responding to the Bible quiz, each of the people named above are invited to select a book of their choice from The Reading Room Bookstore on the Victorious Life Ministries website . Congratulations and keep up the good work

I want to encourage you today by sharing with you the devotional that anchored my prayers this morning. The reading comes from John Eckhardt's book, Daily Declarations for Spiritual Warfare. When it seems like your kids are hopelessly trapped in rebellion, apathy, street life, sexual promiscuity or generally an ungodly lifestyle, remember that God has given us His power to declare His word and command our circumstances. Let's not allow the enemy of us and our children's souls to bully us. Our God still has the power.
You Will Command the Enemy to Leave Your Children Alone
Don't ever doubt My power over the enemy who would pull your children into a stronghold of evil. I am able to deliver your children out of the hand of the enemy. Even if your sons and daughters are taken prey, place your hope in Me, and you will not be disappointed. I have given unto you the keys of My kingdom. Whatsoever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven; whatsoever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Your children are a heritage from Me, and the fruit of your womb is your reward for faithfulness. Therefore I will hedge up their way with thorns and make a wall, that the enemy cannot find their paths. Isaiah 49:22-25; Matt. 16:19; Mark 10:14-16
Prayer Declaration: I command all devils to leave my children alone in the name of Jesus. My children are a heritage from the Lord, and they have been redeemed from every curse. I and the children whom the Lord has given me are for signs and wonders about God. He has established His covenant between me and my seed in all their generations, to be a God unto them and to their seed.

Prayer Matters
Lisa Ivy
VLM Prayer Network Director
Are you aware that we produce a monthly prayer calendar? We use it as a guide for our daily prayer life and it connects us with dozens around the country as we pray for the same need each day. If you would like to join us and be added to the distribution list to receive the calendar, email us at victoriousmin@att.net.
Today's prayer calendar focus is to pray for those who are feeling rejected. There is something inherently painful about rejection because it is so personal. We lift up every person who is having this struggle and declare to you that Jesus loves you!
Join us every Monday evening from 7:00 to 7:30pm &/or Wednesday morning from 6:30 to 7:00am for Victory In Prayer teleconference call. These are powerful times of intercession where scores of believers from around the United States connect in prayer as we lift up the prayer requests that we receive.
Remember, prayer changes everything!
Have you ever asked the Lord Jesus to come into your life? If not, today is a great day to be saved. Pray this short, simple prayer and release your faith, your life will never be the same:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In your name, amen.
If you received Christ today, email us and let us know. We want to pray with and for you! Heaven is rejoicing.

Finally............
Each week when I sit down to compose this newsletter, I am praying and asking God to use it to cause us to focus more on Him. I want to challenge us daily in our walk with the Lord to spend time in the Word, in prayer, in learning of Him and striving to be like Him. Our relationship with the Lord Jesus is not just for Sunday, but it is to be lived out daily. My heart is to inform, to inspire and to encourage you in your faith. No matter what, develop an unwavering trust in our great God. He is who He says that He is. Until next time, keep walking in victory!
Sincerely,
Faye Dadzie

To Your Good Health
Did you know that some vegetables actually cleanse your blood ?
Cruciferous vegetables, which are named for their cross shaped flowers, include Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, kale, mustard and turnip greens, as well as bok choy and watercress. This group of vegetables cause your liver to produce enzymes, called phase 2 enzymes, which capture carcinogens and remove them from your bloodstream. These enzymes increase and start working within just 24 hours !
If these or other green vegetables are too bitter for your taste, consider adding some apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, which soften the bitterness.
Get more cruciferous veggies in your diet today and start cleansing those cancer causing toxins from your blood !
God bless !

Traveling Shoes
To date we have supplied new shoes to more than 200 needy children all over the United States. The only reason that we have been able to do this is because of the generosity of our friends and partners.
If you know of a child in your church, school or community who is in need off new shoes, we want to help. Email us at victoriousmin@att.net and we will take it from there. There are no strict requirements to meet, no forms that must be filled out and no proof of anything required.
We are working right now preparing for our Back to School Mega - Jam. In the fall we will provide shoes, socks, toiletries, backpacks, and school supplies to as many families in need as we can. The more support that we receive for the project, the more we will be able to do. Contact us today about how you can support the Victorious Life Ministries Back to School Mega-Jam!

Male & Female Fun Facts
It comes as no surprise to anyone how vastly different men and women are and how we function in the world. I thought that we would have a little fun today and share some statistics that just reiterate some of our differences:
- Women cry on average between 30 and 64 times a year, while men cry between 6 and 17 times.
- Men lie 6 times a day, twice as often as women (not funny)
- Men were the first to wear high heels around the 1600s. Women began wearing them to look more masculine
- Women spend nearly a year of their lives deciding what to wear
- Women speak about 20,000 words a day, that's 13,000 more than the average man.
| So what do you think about these statistics? |
This ministry is made possible solely through the donations of our friends and supporters. Because of your gifts we are able to touch lives around the world with the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ. Can we count on you? Make a contribution today!
