Romans 11:33 - "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! "
Paul proclaims in this final doxology that the wisdom and knowledge of God are much greater than that of humanity, for the human mind could never conceive of a solution to the problem of how God could punish sin and still justly save the sinner. God's wisdom provided that solution. The depths of that wisdom are far beyond man's power to comprehend them. When we hear people, no matter who they are agreeing with and supporting behaviors, lifestyles or choices that God has condemned, each of us must decide who we will believe. Will we stand on the Lord's side, even though it may be unpopular or seem outdated. I had someone tell me that I was "old school" because I was not willing to participate in a behavior that people my "age" should be comfortable with. Holiness is not an issue of age, but of living right! In this popular culture, where dress codes are relaxed (I have no problem with dressing down for church) and manners are relaxed, we still cannot relax the standards of godly conduct that the believer is called to. My friends even today, holiness is still right! When man begins to behave as though he were smarter than God, you can prepare yourself; calamity is on the way.

Praying for Clarity
"Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil." Ephesians 5:15-16
One of the prayer requests that the Victorious Life Intercessors often receives is - "Please pray that God will give me clarity." Or, "I need guidance, please pray for me." In a sermon series entitled Ask It from Pastor Andy Stanley he provides a practical way for us to gain the clarity we need. We just have to ask ourselves one very simple question - What's the wise thing for me to do? Pastor Stanley suggests that we consider this question in light of three things:
- Our past experience
- Our current circumstances
- Our future hopes and dreams
What a basic but powerful question. How would your life have been different if, when faced with a challenge, you had stopped to pray and ask yourself that question? We can save ourselves a lot of disappointment, heartache and tears but gaining clarity before we act. The next time you need guidance pray first then ask yourself this question:
In light of my past experience, current circumstances, future hopes and dreams what's the wise thing for me to do?
If you lack wisdom, just ask for it: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." James 1:5
If you need prayer, please join us for one of the weekly Victory in Prayer calls. Simply dial 712-432-3066 and enter conference code: 930692 at the appointed time.

Meet the Board
 | Marva Jones, Director Social/Human Service Issues |
Meet Marva Jones, a Victorious Life Ministries Advisory Board Member. She serves as Director of Social/Human Service Issues and has been instrumental in coordinating our efforts on raising awareness of human trafficking around the nation and Central Florida specifically. Additionally, she
is leading our initiative to partner with Pie in the Sky to support farm workers in Hastings, Florida.
Marva had this to say regarding her involvement with Victorious Life Ministries:
"I am part of Victorious Life Ministries because I want to help impact the lives of others. I see VLM as a great opportunity to do just that. Working with this ministry taps into my very soul because I was taught long ago that only what you do for Christ will last and when you do for the least of God's children, you are doing for HIM. I love the members of this organization because we are like minded in spirit and commitment. I see my role as Social/Human Services Director as God sent and God driven because I get to suggest areas in our community and beyond where we can help improve the life circumstances of others less fortunate. To whom much is given, much is expected."

Dr. Nina Speaks.......
How America Has Become an Overly Medicated, Pill-Popping Nation
|
If I were to sum up my views on leading a healthy lifestyle I would simply say that: Exercise is medicine and optimal nutrition is an enabler of good health. I believe that human beings are designed to be physically active and that not doing so creates energy and nutritional imbalances within the body that ultimately contribute to chronic disease and other health problems, including obesity.
In my opinion, the United States has indeed failed to promote a culture of disease prevention and personal accountability. We have a private insurance system that simply fails at accommodating those folks who take preventive measures to stay healthy while rewarding those who do not.
While there are certainly people burdened by pre-existing health conditions that necessitate medical intervention, a sizeable majority of diseases can be treated and, oftentimes, even avoided with healthy lifestyle behaviors including regular exercise, healthy eating, and smoking cessation. Still, despite the proven benefits of such lifestyle practices there remains a growing burden of chronic disease in America.
Unfortunately enough, this disease burden is in fact causing us to become an overly medicated, pill-popping nation. But, don't take my words alone, as seeing is definitely believing. Check out this infographic from the Nursing Bible and you will see exactly what I mean: http://www.thenursingbible.com/pill-nation/
Reduce your risk of preventable diseases. Connect with me on Facebook at Nina Cherie, PhD and while there get your copy of my life changing book, Leaving Your Fat Behind!

Women's History Month
Daisy Lee Gaston Bates
|
Daisy Lee Gatson Bates (November 11, 1914 - November 4, 1999) was an American civil rights activist, publisher, journalist, and lecturer who played a leading role in the Little Rock Integration Crisis of 1957.
Presidential diarist and author Janis F. Kearney transforms civil rights legend Daisy Gatson Bates' life from black and white, to living color. The author, who interviewed Bates many times; recreates her conversations and interviews to "fill in" places left un-filled, and colors incidents and experiences, to bring Daisy Bates to life. Kearney plums the mysterious murder of Bates' mother, and the orphan's childhood; the young woman's prophetic decision to share a traveling salesman's life; her non-traditional role as co-publisher of an award winning newspaper; and her leadership role at a time, and place where Women rarely led.

Daisy Bates is gone, Janis is with us, both make us proud. Let's celebrate both of these accomplished women. You can order Janis' book through the Reading Room Bookstore on our website at www.vl-ministries.org |
