The reason the church is failing to effectively invade the world is because the world has invaded the church."-Anonymous "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8 Sometimes it is good to get back to basics; to start at the beginning. We are bombarded with messages about what we should have and what we should want and all the things that need to happen in order for us to get what we need and want. But today, let's just slow it down and re-visit a fundamental truth. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23. Every person on the planet is guilty of sin. "They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." Romans 3:12. Man has not only missed the mark, he has also perverted his path. Man has lost his way by deviating from God's prescribed route of righteousness. In spite of all of that, thanks be to God, all is not lost. We have a way back to the Father in and through Jesus Christ. Grace is what God does for man, not what man does for God or for himself. Salvation is God's greatest gift and mans' greatest need. This salvation is a finished work through the shed blood of Jesus at Calvary. When we receive Christ, we are saved in that present moment from the penalty of sin. We are no longer under a death sentence, but rather have moved from death into life. But because it is a complete work, we are also saved from the power of sin. As we yield our members to the Lord, sin can no longer rule over us. And one day, we shall be saved from the presence of sin. Today, are you saved? That is a yes or no question, no maybe. If you are not sure, you can be. Salvation is the free gift of God. You cannot earn it, just receive it. Jesus is available to you.
If you answered no, pray this prayer -
Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In your name, amen. If you received Christ today call or email us so that we can pray with you for God's perfect will to be worked out in your life. We are rejoicing with you but so is Heaven! If you are already saved, pray earnestly for someone to come to Christ today!.

Meet the Board

My name is Lisa Lester Ivy and I wear many hats. I'm a mother, a grand mother, a sister, an aunt, a manager, a friend. The list of roles that I play are many but the one that overarches them all is my role as an intercessor and Prayer Director for Victorious Life Ministries.
Intercession is the action of pleading on someone's behalf. Intercessors petition God, through prayer, to do something for someone other than themselves. It is a high calling to exercise your faith and stand in the gap for others. This is a privilege and we're all invited to take part:
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." Timothy 2:1-4
I am so proud to be part of Victorious Life Ministries because we take prayer seriously. When someone calls or writes to request prayer, the intercessor of this ministry actually pray - immediately. We also pray collectively every Wednesday morning from 6:30a - 7:00a EST. We pray, God answers and His people are blessed.
Let me encourage you to do two things:
1. If you're being blessed through this newsletter, invite others to join. Spread the word, share the blessing.
2. Join us and invite others to join us on Wednesday morning for prayer. All you have to do is dial 712-432-3066, enter conference code 930692, listen and be blessed. If Wednesday morning is not practical for you, join us each Monday night, beginning this Monday, March 10th from 7:00 to 7:30pm EST.
Our intercessors are committed to praying for you. There are numerous ways to submit your prayer requests:

To Your Good Health
Tumeric
I have recently discussed Pines brand wheatgrass tablets which is a wonderful nutrient dense whole food supplement which I recommend daily.
Another whole food supplement which I recommend daily is Tumeric, which is a herbaceous, perennial plant that is native to southeast India, where it has been used to flavor foods and treat disease for thousands of years. This plant is often ground and used as a component of curries. Its active ingredient is curcumin which has powerful anti inflammatory and antioxidant effects and is considered to have great potential for the treatment of many chronic diseases, including cancer, Alzheimer's, diabetes, allergies, and arthritis. I have experienced increased energy and mental clarity with daily Tumeric.
I suggest using only organic turmeric. My favorite brand is New Chapter Turmeric Force (soft gels) which is organic and non-GMO. This company utilizes a unique extraction process and delivers nutrients from the entire herb in its products, while other companies isolate elements from an herb, while labeling it "whole herb".
Remember to also enjoy Tumeric daily to spice up your meals !
God bless !

Live A Happier Life!
It is a fact that how others respond to us can impact how we feel. But our own behavior and choices are far more impactful to our well-being and happiness than what others do! Today's recommendation for living a happier life is to change one of your faults.
Everybody has faults, but that doesn't mean that you can't do anything about yours. Pick one you would like to change or eliminate. Take time to do some self-examination with complete honesty. Do you frequently gossip? Do you have a quick temper and a short fuse? Do you procrastinate and avoid facing problems until they are out of control? Or are you still blaming others for the things that are wrong in your life ? Choose to fix what you don't like about yourself. See goodness in yourself and others. Allow your inner strength and joy to be at the heart of who you are!

Alicia Shine
Alicia's book is entitled Social Butterflies. The story line is as follows - A loving mother, devoted wife, and an outstanding event planner was what Tamone (Mona) portrayed on the outside to those who didn't know her. But lying dormant underneath was an evil, vicious snake ready to strike at anything and anyone that got in her way. Used to being in control and the center of attention, Mona suspects her husband is cheating and confronts the other woman, using her usual tactics to put fear in those who stand in her way. But Mona finally meets her match and realizes you can't judge a book by its cover.

Chef Elliott is famous for his unique menus from soul food capitals to dishes that are sophisticated in flavor, yet true to their origins. His "soul food with a jazzy flair" combines casual and familiar with creative and authentic. He creates an experience that marries comfort, warmth and a fusion of soul flavors.
Today, Chef Elliott shares one of his favorite dessert recipes with us. When you try it, you will love it!
Ingredients:
1 pineapple cake mix (box)
1 sm jar raspberry jam
1 1/2 c dry sherry (not cooking sherry)
2 cans vanilla pudding
1/2 c sugar
2 c whipping cream
1/2 c toasted slivered almonds
Directions:
Bake cake according to box in prepared 1/2 sheet cake pan. Cool cake completely. Cut cake into 8 squares. Split each square and fill with jam, sandwich style. Arrange squares in 4 qt glass serving dish. Cut squares to fit bowl. Pour sherry over cake and allow to soak about 5 minutes. Spread with pudding. Chill at least 8 hours. Beat heavy cream and sugar until stiff. Spread over trifle and sprinkle with almonds.
Chef Elliot says - "I really enjoy this recipe because it brings a touch of elegance to the everyday dinner table or upscale dinner party. PLUS it's simplistic enough so that the beginner cook can make this fabulous dish and get rave reviews!! Who said you can't jazz up a box cake recipe, gourmet style?!!!...LOL"

Women's History Month
Throughout the month of March, Women's History Month is celebrated. The national theme this year is "Celebrating Women of Character, Courage and Commitment. There are women from all walks of life and numerous professions that are being recognized for their contributions and accomplishments. I would like to encourage you to think about the women who have touched your life in a personal way. Why not celebrate them? Take this opportunity to make a telephone call, buy a card, send some flowers, but in some tangible way, let the women in your life know how they have blessed you!
If you would like to give a special shout out to someone, send us their name and we will dedicate a special section of this newsletter for the remainder of the month to your special women. Let others know who your She-roes are!

We haven't said a whole lot in the last couple of weeks about Traveling Shoes. The reason is that we have been so busy with other projects and meeting other needs that we shifted our focus temporarily. However, Traveling Shoes are still moving. We received new requests just this week that will be going out to children in Georgia and Louisiana.
Thank you to all those who continue to support this vital part of the ministry agenda.
