Waiting presents a challenge where many of us do not excel.  It is difficult because as a rule, we want what we want and the sooner the better.  Never mind the fact that some things just take time to develop and there is no short cut available.  We want the results that we want, and despise the journey that is necessary to attain the results.

A couple of mornings ago I woke up early and a particular issue was on my mind.  I was thinking about how much the whole thing was getting on my nerves.  Even as I thought about my irritation , I was convicted by the Holy Spirit because of my attitude.  So I began to pray for the person and the situation.  Right in the middle of my prayer I heard the Holy Spirit say, "Do not allow your impatience with My process to cause you to become a hindrance instead of a help."  Let me tell you that I felt that rebuke all the way down to my toes, it shook me and made me realize my foolish arrogance.  The Bible tells us in Philippians 1:6 - "And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns." It is God who begins the process of changing us and it is God that will complete it.  While God is working on you and in this case on someone else, our job is not to become weary, judgmental or angry.  We are to recognize that God is at work, perfecting those things concerning His people.  The amount of time that it takes is His alone to determine.  While He is working on you, me and those around us, we can celebrate the fact that the promise that we have that He will finish is that He started.  His people, His process, His praise. It's all His, that's the H Factor!

Know Your Bible

The participation in the Bible quiz each week is phenomenal.  It is so much fun to see that people open their email right away and  begin responding to the question.  If you have never answered a question, get involved.  It is a great way to learn  the Word.  It will enrich your life!

Sister 2 Sister

I spent most of my professional career as a Human Resources Executive in the financial services industry.  At various times I was responsible for developing and implementing the affirmative action plan for the organization where I was employed.  At other times I was a part of leading the efforts for diversity and inclusion.  Wherever I was employed there was  a "pecking order" that identified those who always occupied the positions of greatest influence and affluence.  It went like this - white males, white females, black males, black females.  I have found that the bottom rung existence  is not only prevalent in corporate America, but in fact permeates our entire society for black women.  To many we are the least desirable, least attractive, least promotable, least intellectual, just the least.  Even many black men choose women of other races because they feel that they are more "exotic."    Needless to say, I disagree wholeheartedly with  the perception that we are less than others in any way, physically, intellectually, or spiritually.  If you are a black woman join me in rejecting our rejection by others.

When you look in the mirror, what do you see?  Do you see a fearfully and wonderfully made human being or do you see someone else's version of all that is wrong with you?  Since today is Valentine's Day, my sister I urge you to love yourself!  Love your strength, your perseverance, your ability to forgive, to overcome and to move on.  But also love your intellect, your sense of humor, your voluptuousness, and your ability to make a sweet potato pie.  Love how you love God, your children and your family.  Love your potential,  love the fact that you left your  past behind and now embrace your future.  Love your place in the world and your place in the Kingdom of God.  Love the fact that there is so much more to you than a dress size or a grade or length of hair.  Love yourself enough to stop settling for less than you deserve and enough to demand the respect that you are entitled to.  Love yourself enough to realize that people who left are supposed to be gone and that you are still standing.  Most of all, love God, He first loved you!

I have an idea, while we are in such a loving mood, let's be sure to love and support one another.  Happy Day of Love!

African American Chronology

Where were the first African American churches founded? When did Frederick Douglass deliver his first anti-slavery speech? Who de-segregated Major League Baseball? The turbulent history of African Americans unfolds in historical waves, through rights and injustices, migration, inventions and art, protests, legislation, and accomplishments. From the first recorded arrival of Africans in the New World to the death of Rosa Parks, a chronology of events ties history together for the reader, giving a greater sense of the struggle, alienation, and triumph of blacks in America.

Praise Time

On this day when love is in the air, let's remember the source of all real love is God!  John 3:16 - " For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Do you know for yourself that Jesus is Love?

If the Lord were to return today, are you sure where you would spend eternity?  Do you know for yourself that your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life?  If you cannot answer yes to this question, nothing else matters.  But the good news is that you can know today.  Stop now, repent of your sins and invite Jesus to come into your heart and live His life in you.  It is so easy, pray this short, simple prayer, believe it by faith and your life will never be the same -

Dear Lord Jesus,

I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead.  I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will.

In your name, amen.

If you prayed that prayer today, heaven is rejoicing.  We are praying for you that God lead you to a Bible believing, Bible teaching church where you can begin to grow into a disciple of Christ.

Call us a 1 888 479 1113 or email us at [email protected] and let us know that you received Christ today.  We want to pray for you by name.
