"And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all." I Samuel 30:8
Did you ever feel like giving up? Do all of your best efforts seem to be in vain? Does it feel like everything is stacking up against you? Are even the people that you have been in the trenches with starting to grumble and no longer believe in you? Great! You are in the right place to see the Hand of God move in a miraculous way! In the above referenced verse David finds himself in a desperate situation. His wives and children, along with the wives and children of his men had been captured. The city had been burned and his men were ready to stone him. He was overcome with grief and distress for himself and for his cohorts; his tears ran freely. Yet he didn't just stay balled up in a corner, wringing his hands, mourning over the hopelessness of his situation. He called on His God! He basically said, Lord what am I to do? My friend, today is the day that your weeping and mourning ends. Dry your eyes, go to your God and seek Him for what you should do. God has the answer for your situation. He just wants you to realize that all of your efforts without Him are in vain. But if you will trust Him, if you purpose in your heart to obey Him, He will guide you and give you victory. Today is the day that you rise up, pursue, overtake and recover. God's plan is to bless you and to bring you out with the goods!
