- You may receive tax credits to help pay premiums
Americans are required to obtain healthcare insurance, get an exemption, or pay a penalty. In 2017, penalty is about $695 per person or 2% of your income (whichever is higher).

APPLY ANY TIME OF YEAR
MEDICAID & MORE
You can apply for Medicaid any time during the year. Eligibilty is based on several things including family size, income and immigration status.Are you an immigrant? To qualify for Medicaid typically you must be a Green Card holder for at least 5 years. For those who don't quality for full Medicaid, there are other ways for you to access health coverage, including Medicaid ESO (Emergency Services Only) or Medicaid MOMs which is for pregnant women regardless of immigration status.
Coverage is complicated. Come in and talk to one of our patient advocates. It's free and confidential, and we speak Spanish.
