Meet the new faces on our remarkable Packard Health team.

Carisalyn Cousin, FNP-BC
Carisalyn practices at Packard Health Ypsilanti. Her previous experience includes medical, pulmonary, renal, surgical and oncology. She has served as a Nurse Practitioner at the Surgical Preparation Center at St. Joseph Hospital, Anesthesiology Department, and most recently with Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility.

Dr. April Bigelow, PhD, ANP-BC, AGPCNP-BC
Dr. Bigelow currently practices at the Delonis Health Clinic where she sees a variety of vulnerable populations, including underinsured and homeless patients, for their health promotion, primary care, and acute care needs. In addition, she teaches in the Health Behavior and Biological Sciences Programs and is program lead for the Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner program at the UMSN. Her research focus includes health promotion issues within vulnerable populations, global health, and innovative educational modalities for graduate nursing education.

Adult Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing (UMSN). 


Dr. Chin Hwa (Gina) Dahlem, PhD, FNP-C, FAANP
Dr. Dahlem serves people who are experiencing homelessness at the Delonis Center. Previously she provided primary care services to inmates at the Department of Corrections. Her interests include improving care for the vulnerable populations, opioid overdose prevention and education, adolescent risk assessment, and patient-provider communication. She has also helped to lead opioid overdose prevention trainings using naloxone for police departments throughout southeast Michigan and other community organizations.

MS in Community Health Nursing; Doctorate in Nursing at University of Michigan
 Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.


Tsui-Sui Annie Kao, PhD, FNP-BC
Dr. Kao has nine years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner and working closely with vulnerable population. Her current practice is at the Delonis Center, where she provides primary care for clients who are homeless or do not have health insurance. Additionally, her research focuses on understanding parental influences on adolescents' health behavior development and aims to develop family interventions to maximize positive interactions between parents and adolescents particularly for disadvantaged communities. 

Associate Professor at the University of Toledo, College of Nursing and a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nursing Faculty Scholar.


Karin Roszell, MA

Karin enjoys caring directly for patients and is thrilled to be a part of the Packard Health team whose mission resonates with her deeply. She plans to continue her education and pursue a medical degree.

Environmental Sciences degree from the University of Michigan with a minor in German.



Linda Sprau, MA

Linda has been working as a Medical Assistant since 1999 and began working at Packard Health in November 2015.








Chris Sherrod, MA
 
Christopher has been working at the Delonis Center as a medical assistant since 2012. He plans to further his education to become a nurse to reach his goal as a nurse practitioner.
 
 
Melissa Cofield, Receptionist
 
Melissa has worked in customer service for many years and enjoys interacting with people. Her experience at Packard Health has taught her that attitude is everything and if she comes to work everyday with a positive one she can accomplish many things.

Brandon Fawaz, Financial Department Support

At Packard Health Brandon's day-to-day responsibilities include entering bills and deposits. He enjoys his position because of the new experiences and because of the role Packard Health plays in providing healthcare to low income individuals who would otherwise have a hard time. He plans to pursue a masters degree in Finance or Business Administration in the near future.

Kari Fedewa, LLMSW
Kari is Collaborative Care Manager at Packard Health;
She provides care management as part of The Tailored Mental Health Management Support (TaMMS) program, which is designed to help manage the treatment of depression and anxiety for patients at four safety net clinics in Washtenaw County. Kari trained in the Department of Psychiatry, primarily utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy with adult patients. Her experience includes providing psychotherapy at EMU Counseling and Psychological Services and in a private psychiatric clinic. Most recently, she worked at the Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility providing individual and group therapy and case management services on a specialized mental health unit.
