What another amazing year! The community came together to "raise the barn" for one more project adding to the Philmont renaissance!

Help us raise the Community Match!

The goal for the Community Match is to match the five grants totaling $82,500 to a budget of $95,000. It covers the green & energy efficient gut-rehab renovation completed by local contractors for the Philmont Market & Cafe Cooperative.

Now it's our turn as a community working together with local farmers and producers to bring the dream of fresh, locally-sourced nutritious foods a little closer every day.

Please help us meet the renovations budget Community Match!  As the year is coming to a close, we need to see your commitment and support for this project.  It takes the community to turn a former auto repair shop and gas/convenience store into a cooperatively owned local grocery.  We hope you can join us on this incredible journey by making a contribution today.  We can do this together!

A total of $82,500 was needed for 116 Main St., including structural support and excavation, foundation slab work, plumbing, electric wiring & fixtures, brick masonry, R50 closed & open cell insulation, sheetrock walls, carpentry, awnings, facade restoration, environmental testing, and Small Business planning. It was made possible with assistance and donations from The New York Main Street Program, the Rural Business Enterprise Grant, Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation's Green Pastures Fund and the Columbia Fund, The Bank of Greene County Charitable Foundation, Herrington's Building Supply, Meltz Lumber, and with the assistance of the New England Cooperative Fund. "Thank you" for believing in Philmont rising from the ashes. The community came together splendidly this year to help build a brighter future for this little village!

Now it's our turn as a community to complete the interior finishing of the building, the installation of green energy efficient equipment, and retrofitting the cooperative cafe kitchen to assist the Philmont Market and Cafe Cooperative expand services in 2014!
Every Community Match donation, large or small will go a long way in helping Philmont Market & Cafe Cooperative provide affordable, direct-market produce, meats, baked goods, dairy, and the cafe and deli.  Working in collaboration with local farmers, food producers, craft vendors, and Fair Trade farmers it is all aimed at creating heartfelt community-based sustainable foods!

By making a contribution to the 2013 Annual Appeal you show community support for programs and projects aimed at improving the quality of life in Philmont, which in turn helps our organization assist future community renewal projects through our four integrated programs: Small Business, Main St. Revitalization, Arts & Trades, and Special Projects.

The Philmont Market & Cafe Cooperative is assisted through our Small Business program with grants and donations awarded to our organization.

Contributions are tax deductible as charitable donations to a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization.  Every contributor receives a letter of acknowledgement from us.

Please contribute this year, and have a splendid holiday knowing you are giving back to your community by helping the Philmont Market & Cafe Cooperative to expand its services in 2014.
