Welcome! to the market's 4th season launched at our NEW location in support of "Growing Our Co-op Together" on the forecourt of the Philmont Market & Cafe Cooperative
A small Sunday morning farmers' market located in a village downtown setting with 10 to 12 local farmers and vendors within a 15 mile radius to Philmont. Freshly harvested vegetables, fruits, pickles, syrups, sugar free jams, Devon free-range beef, goat, and chicken, artisanal cheeses, bread, eggs, pastries, cakes, pies, cut flowers, potted plants & herbs. Local crafts including organically produced home & health products, handmade leather work, handmade wooden bowls, a gifts and card stall. Local crafters rotate on a weekly basis. A market cafe area, and sometimes food/health educational free events.
An EBT and FMNP farmers' market:
We believe fresh local food should be affordable. We offer several incentives to foster an affordable local food movement. The market accepts EBT/SNAP (food stamps) WIC fresh fruits and vegetable coupons, and FMNP Farmers Market Nutritional coupons. The market compliments these programs with a market coupon supported by our farmer's generous weekly donations of fresh produce to the market's EBT Goodies Table providing a choice of a free vegetable for every EBT purchase. We are pleased to say the market will again be able to offer a $2 Fresh Check incentive for every $5 spent for all EBT/SNAP purchases for the 2013 season supported with funds from NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets Fresh Check program. Fresh Checks will be available at the EBT table starting in July.
