NYC DEBATE WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
"Be Great! Be a Great Debater!"

Happy Holidays Everyone!

During this special time of year, we give thanks to our partners, supporters and volunteers for supporting the mission that all student should have access to the best debate education opportunities possible. This year the New York City Urban Debate League was able to offer competitive and curricular debate programs and activities to thousands of students across the five boroughs, an impressive feat but one that would not be possible without friends and supporters like you! Words are not enough to describe the amazing work our debaters have accomplished in 2015, just watch this video of NYC Urban Debaters analyzing the 2016 presidential debates on Fox News. Or read an article about a NYC principal using debate to transform his school.  Or check in our alumni like Erika Marte who is traveling the world on an academic Fellowship, or Sorangel Liriano who helps to direct our tournaments while studying at Columbia University on a full scholarship.

Participation in debate helps to level the playing field for many of the students we serve and we hope you will continue to volunteer and support us in 2016. In the new year we plan to start debate programs in at least 10 new schools. Follow us as we continue the important work of improving students' lives, strengthening our schools, and building stronger communities in New York City! Thank you for making all our work possible. Wishing you a joyous holiday season with peace and cheer in the New Year.

Best Wishes,
