Dear TBE Family,

Tonight begins the first day of the month of Kislev. Hard as it is to believe, the month in which we celebrate Chanukah has arrived! For this month's middah guide, we have selected the commandment Bal Tashchit,  which means "do not waste or destroy". As we approach a packed and festive month in which we will celebrate both Chanukah and Thanksgiving, let us study and consider what it means to be mindful of our resources: the earth's and our family's. May we exercise moderation in our consumption of food, drink, and gifts all the while growing in gratitude and wonder for the bounty of God's creation.
