Jewish Values Guide - Cheshvan 5774

Today we welcome the new Hebrew month of Cheshvan. The Rabbis of old taught that this month is also called Mar Cheshvan
meaning "bitter Cheshvan" because there are no holidays in this Hebrew month. Many rabbis of today rejoice in the simple time this month offers. Last month we had four fall holidays and next month we have Chanukah. As we enjoy a month with no festivals, may we focus our energy on making our homes our greatest sources of sanctuary and peace.

L'Shalom,
Rabbi Judy
