Abbott Laboratories Wins 2014 Corporate EASNA Award

Congratulations to GBGH member company, Abbott Laboratories, for winning The Employee Assistance Trade Association's (EASNA) 2014 Corporate Award. The award, which was accepted by Roberta Finkler, GBGH Board member, recognizes companies that have worked in partnership with EAP providers to design and integrate a program that enhances employee well-being and enables the company to work toward a healthy and productive workplace.

World No Tobacco Day Employee Communications
With World No Tobacco Day coming up at the end of May, the GBGH team wanted to share the following resources ( while some focus on the U.S., the materials should be helpful to develop global communications):

Visit our website for more tobacco and tobacco cessation resources. The website also has a new section that features Select United Nations Health Observance emails, which include other resources employers can utilize.
American Cancer Society materialsContain various fact sheets, many of which are also in Spanish. A toolkit for employers includes sample email templates, a quiz and newsletter inserts. Register for an account to get promotional materials and customize the materials by inserting your own company logo on them. Once you register and are directed to the site, click on " programs" then " tobacco."
NHS Media CenterContains a sampling of posters, displays and leaflets about tobacco cessation. Smokefree.gov resourcesOffers booklets and fact sheets for various populations. There is a Spanish website available as well. Smokefree in a BoxIncludes model and sample employer smoke-free policies as well as communication strategies and company profiles. Available in various languages.

Best Practice Model for Maternity Care Programs in India Webinar
On May 15 learn about the results of the GBGH project to develop best practice recommendations for maternity care programs in India.
