...keeping watch over their flock...
.
Greetings!

Far from home and traveling by bicycle, Roy was side-swiped by a car and sustained major injuries. Where could he live between hospital visits?
Our special Nightingale shelter opened our doors, watched over him, and kept him safe.

Roy could barely walk, and was vulnerable and at risk. Nightingale is there for people like him -- without a home to go to when a doctor says they need recuperation and protection.

"I'd be in trouble without Nightingale," Roy said.

"La Posadas" is a delightful and unique Mexican tradition. Beginning Dec. 16th, it commemorates the cold, difficult journey of Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem. Each night after dark, the "Posada" (procession) is led by two children dressed as angels. Adults carry long, lighted candles and sing as they approach the door of a designated house. They chant a traditional song and plead for lodging, until they are jubilantly welcomed. They share songs, prayer and festive foods. On the last night, Dec. 24, the festivities are followed by a midnight mass.
