Moving Together, Moving Ahead
Carlos Bell, President
I would like to thank the ACPE membership for supporting an outstanding annual conference. We had over 450 attendees, including representatives from APC, NACC, NAJC and-for the first time-the Association of Muslim Chaplains (AMC). I was deeply appreciative to have Margie Atkinson, APC President, participate in my presidential installation!

One of my goals as ACPE President is to be inclusive of the various voices within our organization via the Presidential Newsletter. I was deeply moved while reading the Southeast Region Newsletter highlighting the annual conference.

The 2016 Innovative Program Award grant cycle is now open! Applicants are invited to submit proposals for innovative CPE projects that do not exceed $5,000.

This year, $15,000 is available in grant funds, as funding is currently limited to a percentage of the funds raised by the ACPE Sowing Seeds for Our Holy Work Annual Campaign.

Two years ago, we conducted a national survey of salaries for our profession. It is time to repeat that survey and to update our data. While many of the original questions remain (which will allow us to begin to develop comparative data), we received several good suggestions that we have incorporated into this effort. Amidst summer units and preparations for fall, we hope to catch you thinking about the profession and the practices that comprise Clinical Pastoral Education. The link below will take you to the survey. It is designed to take you no more than 10-15 minutes.

The Organizational Design Work Group Thanks You!

David Carl, Chair
I am excited to report that we received over 250 responses to the three models sent out earlier this summer. I experienced appreciation not only for the volume but also for the obvious investment and passion for the content. Thanks to you for your feedback, your Organizational Design Work Group (ODWG) is better informed to create a proposal for the board. We plan to digest all this feedback along with the plethora of input over these last months and at our Denver meeting.

We would love to hear from students about their CPE experiences. What will stay with you? What is one important memory, story or encounter that will continue to shape your sense of vocation?

Let us know! Send up to 500 words to John Roch. We will post your stories in our "members only" section of the website. We also hope to share portions of stories in our efforts to build the association.
