A Season of Thanksgiving
David Johnson 2x3

By David C. Johnson, ACPE President

During and after the national leadership meetings in Decatur last week, I began to think about my appreciation of all who gathered there and those who had prepared in so many different ways for the gathering.  I was filled with gratitude for the many work and volunteer hours that go into making such an event possible.  In the spirit of the season let me share with you the feelings of thanksgiving that fill my soul as I head toward to the day we all set aside to give thanks nationally.

These thoughts flow randomly and in no order of importance.  I am thankful:

For a staff the not only prepared for the overall leadership meeting so that they ran smoothly but also opened the national office (their work home) for the ACPE Board, RDs, the FCPE Board and the Accreditation Commission to meet during the day over five days. They planned and executed a wonderful reception one evening and hosted two lunches during the day, all while they also carried on the work of the Association. Terry Izaguirre and her team made it all happen.

Certification Update
By Robin Booth, Certification Chair

I want to thank everyone was a part of our recent Certification Commission meeting. Our Certification Commissioner did a stellar job and went over and beyond what they have been asked to do in the past. I thank each of you for your time, dedication and hours of work, both prior to committee appearances and during committee appearances.  I thank all those with whom I recruited to be on committees who are not an elected member of the Certification Commission. Each of you added a great deal to the work of our organization.  Thank you for your willingness to serve. Sheilah Hawk and all of the staff of ACPE, you all are wonderful and excel at what you do. Thanks for all the headaches and hours of dedication you give to this organization.

Two Ways to Support ACPE

We are grateful this thanksgiving season for you - our membership - and how you support ACPE through your generosity. There are two ways to contribute during this season of giving. Georgia Gives Day has passed but you can still use the Georgia Gives page for convenient giving to provide more scholarship money to the national conference in May.

You can also support ACPE just by shopping at Amazon during this holiday season! Through their AmazonSmile program, a percentage of your total will be donated to ACPE at no cost to you. Sign-up for AmazonSmile today and designate ACPE as your benefactor.

Our thanks.

National Office Open House
On November 17, 2014, the national office hosted an Open House for ACPE's leadership who were in Decatur, GA for the fall board, commission, and committee meetings. ACPE board members Earl Cooper and Dianna Cox led the leadership in a Cleansing and Blessing Ceremony of the office and staff. Check-out ACPE's Facebook page for more photos.
