Journal of Pastoral Care Publications

At the most recent member meeting of the association in Indianapolis, the membership was informed that the Board of Representatives approved a decision to discontinue ACPE's financial commitment to the Journal of Pastoral Care & Counseling, in light of budget constraints.  The annual expense for providing complimentary subscriptions of the journal to members of the association is $42,320.

There was considerable discussion about that decision by the members at the annual meeting.  As a consequence, a task force was appointed by ACPE President Robin Brown-Haithco to review the decision.  The task force is asking the membership to respond to a questionnaire (six questions) regarding the value and use of the journal.

2013 ACPE Sowing Seeds for Our Holy Work Annual Campaign
Miriam Needham

By Miriam Needham, Annual Campaign Chair

Thank you to the 172 ACPE members who have already made a gift or pledge to ACPE's 2013 Sowing Seeds for Our Holy Work Annual Campaign.  The number of donors continues to increase, and we are grateful for every gift no matter the amount.

While today's numbers are small when compared to our goal of 100% participation, we are encouraged by the notes we receive from new donors to the annual campaign who say that they understand the importance of participating in order to further the work of their  Association.

Please help us reach our goal by sending your check in the response envelope included with the letter you received from Bill Scrivener and me in July or use your credit card to donate online at acpe.edu/foundation.html.

Clinical Member's Directory
directory imageBy Claudia Meyer, ACPE Board Representative

Clinical Members often report to me that they feel "invisible."  CPE Supervisors often tell me, "I don't know if there are any Clinical Members in my area."  The ACPE website "members only" page allows you to "search" for Clinical Members by name or from a particular Region, but it's not the most user-friendly program.  But thanks to today's technology, and the generosity of the Eastern Region (whose Clinical Member funds were used to purchase the program), we now have an easily accessible, web-based, interactive set of MAPS (by Region) to assist ACPE members in locating Clinical Members by location!
