Greetings!

"Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative" goes the old song.

Creating the right culture for your organization is essential for a healthy work environment that can support growth and outstanding customer service.

Simply shifting your mindset can make a big difference in how easy it is to get through the busiest parts of the season.

Good leaders know the importance of making a conscious decision about how they want their company to be portrayed to customers and employees.

Here are some ways to stay positive in the stressful season:

  • Avoid the gloom and drama.  There's always plenty of it in the news, especially in an election year.
  • Focus on what's going right, and try to make more of that happen with both customers and employees.
  • Remember the great things you've done in the past and remind yourself there are more of them ahead in the future
We're glad to have you as a customer.  Have a great week!

Make Your Landscape Lighting Design Come to Life During the Bid with a Great Demo

Seeing a landscape lighting design in action is a great way to help potential clients visualize the possibilities and close more bids. Here's how to get the most out of a on-site demo:
  • Light the demo for several nights. This gives homeowners the chance to get accustomed to the end effect. Then, when the lights are removed, they'll miss the difference the lighting makes.
  • Walk the property with the homeowners. Walking the property assures that homeowners take the time to really appreciate the quality of the lighting, while also giving them the chance provide input. Be sure to walk the property on the first and last night of the demo to create the perfect transition to close the sale.
  • Market your skills to the neighborhood. Let homeowners in the area know about a demo with fliers, yard signs and door hangers. Once you're back for the install, these neighbors will often stop by for information.
  • Keep demo tools on-hand. The Design Pro LED Contractor Demo Bag (ST117450REVA) is available to all LightPro Rewards members and includes 12 of Kichler's most popular landscape lighting fixtures plus a battery pack.

King Innovation Handy I-Tool and L-Tool

Whether you are an irrigation contractor, lighting professional, or both, one thing is the same: there are so many tools needed for the job! What better way to manage these tools than to combine them into one? King Innovation carefully designed two multi-tools to solve this every-day need: the I-tool for irrigation and the L-tool for lighting.

The I-tool® Irrigation Multi-Tool is constructed from a sturdy stainless steel, and is compatible with all major sprinkler brands. It includes fifteen (15) total tools-four (4) of which are industry specific. You'll never catch yourself in a sprinkler related bind with tools designed to pull up various sprinkler head brands, effortlessly adjust arc, punch holes in poly pipe and quickly remove sediment from nozzles.

Following the success of the I-tool, the L-tool Lighting Multi-Tool was introduced in 2015. The landscape lighting industry will not know what they have been missing until they try out this eighteen (18) tool masterpiece! In addition to standard tools such as a CR-7 knife blade and screwdrivers, the L-tool features a level, scribe, brush, and various industry specific hex keys. In addition, it has a graduated wire stripper and a convenient nylon carrying case with a tape roll holder attachment.

Never reach in your toolbox, scrambling for tools again!

What Is Backflow?   Why Are Backflow Preventers Needed?

Zurn Wilkins 375 Reduced Pressure Principle Assembly
Backflow Preventers are a common item in irrigation supply houses and are mandated by code in many areas, but have you ever wondered what backflow is, and why backflow preventers are required?

What Is Backflow?
Backflow is the undesirable reversal of flow of a possible source of contamination into the potable water system. Backflow is a risk in all irrigation applications, and a solution to protect drinking water systems must be provided.

When Does Backflow Occur?
Backflow is caused by pressure changes, including conditions of gravity, vacuum, etc. The two factors that contribute to backflow are backsiphonage and backpressure.

What is a Backflow Preventer?
Backflow preventers are designed to protect the public, potable water supply from the hazards of backflow (contaminants and pollutants). For more information on the importance of backflow and how to select the right backflow prevention device, visit www.zurn.com or click here
