Order Early. Experts Predict Ice Melt Shortage Due to Plant Capacity Issues
The Executive Director of the Accredited Snow Contractors Association recently wrote "Be warned. If current trends continue, the professional snow and ice management industry is facing another salt crisis heading into winter 2014-15".
Salt suppliers are predicting a range of 7% to as high as a 45% increase in salt costs for the coming winter season. Combined with increases in insurance, fuel and labor costs, this could create a perfect storm for contractors who do not prepare.
Beat the Ice Melt Shortage by ordering early and locking in your supply. Contact your CPS representative for pricing and to learn about our contractor-friendly services.

Kichler Shares Tips for Keeping Your Landscape Lighting Sales Pipeline Full
How do you maintain a steady stream of business? Businesses need to generate leads constantly - and that's especially true for landscape lighting professionals. Try these tips: Start with family and friends. They most likely know and trust you - and want to help you succeed. You can ask them to promote your business within their network: have them share your info on their Facebook page and hand out your business cards. Reach out to past customers. Look at your current client list, and consider other services you can offer. Do you sell a maintenance contract? Can you convert an incandescent system to LED - thereby saving the customer on operating costs? If a customer installed an irrigation system with you, offer them a discounted rate on their landscape lighting project. You can also tie this discount to referrals. Network with complementary companies. If a homeowner is hiring a landscape designer, decking company or patio installer, chances are they're focusing on their outdoor living spaces. When you network with businesses like these, you can help each other generate referrals. Look for companies that share your approach to service and quality. For materials you can use to generate leads, visit landscapelighting.com and become a Kichler LightPro Rewards member.

Easy & Profitable Water Saving Retrofits with Toro Precision Spray Nozzles
One of the simplest ways to save water is to swap out "old" nozzles with more efficient ones.
Toro's Precision Series Spray nozzles use 1/3 less flow to reach a radius when compared to a conventional spray nozzle.
Toro Precision nozzles create a more uniform droplet size resulting in consistency across the area of coverage. The nozzles are available in both male and female threads.
Toro Precision nozzles are now offered in a Pressure Compensating version, which means you simply pop out your existing nozzle, replace with a Toro Precision Pressure Compensating nozzle, and you'll have the benefit of saving water, with a pressure compensating device!
Check out this Savings Calculator to determine how much you can save with a Toro Precision nozzle.
