Dear Mark Twain Community,

It is amazing that we are entering the second half of the school year.  As we head into the second semester I want to thank all of you for the support that you give the teachers and staff at Mark Twain.

The beginning of a new year is a time of reflection. As we look at where we are as educators we celebrate our accomplishments, evaluate our practices, and set goals for the remainder of the year. Take some time in the coming days to reflect with your children on the school year thus far. What are they proud of? What goals do they have for the remainder of the year? What strategies do they have in place to help them reach their goals?

Together we can make this semester a positive experience for the children. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or administrative staff if you have any questions, ideas, or concerns.

The last day before the holiday we had Field Day and it was amazing! The students had a great time and the displays of sportsmanship and collaboration were evident at all events. The 4th grade team works with Coach Jody to plan and organize Field Day as part of their planner under the theme How We Organize Ourselves.  The Central Idea of this planner is, "Systems are established to gain perspective and achieve community goals". It was an incredible opportunity for the students to experience a real world application of their learning. Congratulations!
