The IOWA/Logramos scores will be in next week.  The individual student reports can be picked up at the school office between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday beginning on Wednesday, July 1.

 

Summer Reading

 

We have book bags for students in grades K-2 available for summer checkout.  If you are interested in picking up a bag, please stop by the main office anytime between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm,  Monday through Thursday.   

 

"Every Summer Has a Story" is HISD's campaign to keep your child's mind moving forward this summer. HISD is teaming up with the Houston Public Library and myON, a digital library where students can access free books that are just right for their reading level and interests.  

 

With help from myON, your child can win prizes by reading 10 or more books this summer. Click here for directions to access myON's Summer Reading program.  If you have trouble logging in, please contact the main office at (713) 295-5230.   

 

Students have access to iStation over the summer, an online skill-building reading program that students use in class. The iStation username was given to the students before school ended.   Students should be encouraged to read every day during the summer for at least 30 minutes.

 

Incoming Kindergartners

 

If you have an incoming kindergarten student, please enroll them as soon as possible.  Students that attended Mark Twain for the 2014-2015 school year will automatically roll over unless you have moved out of our zone.  We requested current documentation of residence during the spring semester and if we did not receive that documentation (i.e. lease agreement, electric bill etc.) your child will not be placed on a class list until the documentation is received.   If you have any questions, please contact Denise Rodriguez at drodrigu@houstonisd.org.

Please make sure your children are in attendance on the first day of school, Monday, August 24. It is imperative to ensure your child's spot is held.
