Dear Parents,

Last week most of our grade levels had their first enrichment class. The students were in groups that the grade level teams formed and for the most part it went well. This week second grade will have their first meeting and we look forward to revising our plans based on feedback and reflection.   The students may change groups as the year progresses so that we can best meet the individual needs of the students. The topics may change but our content area focus is math and science. As an IB school we have an inquiry based approach to a transdisciplinary curriculum. The content areas are integrated which provides more relevant connections for their learning.
  • Student Picture Day is Wednesday, October 15
  • Gentle reminder - parents that eat lunch at school must eat at the visitor tables. Children may invite one friend to join them. We simply do not have the room to accommodate all of our visitors at the student tables.
  • I am working on the traffic situation on Stella Link and Aberdeen. Please be careful if you drive or walk in that area. Thank you in advance for your patience.
Have a great week!
Melissa Patin
Principal
Dear Mark Twain Families,

Can you believe the weather this morning? It's starting to feel like fall, football, and all the traditions that go along with it. Our annual festival and fundraiser Spooky Spaghetti is right around the corner on October 25. Remember to get you armbands, tickets, and look for volunteer opportunities. Lots of new activities. Lots of new games. It should be a blast.

The PTO approved designating $100,000 to kick off "Pony up For the Playground," at last week's meeting. The current playground is aging out, has severe drainage issues, and is a constant maintenance hassle. Look for more in the coming weeks and see how we can all get involved to get our kids a new, dynamic play area.

Have a great week!
