Dear Parents,

The first week of school went exceptionally well! A huge thanks to our staff and for your commitment to the success of our students.

Please plan to attend Open House tomorrow evening.  You'll learn more about what our specialists and your child's teacher have planned for the year.

Open House for parents only (no childcare provided)

Thursday, September 4

5:30        Specialists will provide  overview of programs in the cafeteria

6:00        Grades K-2 presentations in classrooms

6:00        LDC with Ms. Gee in her classroom for grades 3-5

7:00        Grades 3-5 presentations in classrooms

7:00        LDC with Ms. Diaz in her classroom for grades K-2

Also, in the next few weeks, all students will take the Beginning of the Year assessments (BOY). The BOY assessments help us determine the current performance level of our students so we may guide instruction, meet learning needs, and build and extend certain skills.

Students begin using iStation this week.  iStation is a monthly computer-adaptive assessment that adjusts to the skill level of each child. Based on iStation results, students will have a predetermined number of minutes assigned to work on identified skills. The students may work on iStation lessons at school or at home. Classroom teachers will provide specific information at Open House.

Reminders:

  • Return your first day packet forms to your classroom teacher. The enrollment form must have at least two emergency contacts and phone numbers.
  • Sign up for Living Tree. New families should receive an invitation from the classroom teacher. Returning families will automatically be signed up.
  • Please be careful when parking on the streets surrounding the school. Please don't block driveways or move trash cans/recycling bins.

Have a great week!
