Dear Mark Twain Family & Friends,

Welcome Back Twain Tigers! The spirit and sense of community generated from the Back to School Rumble truly carried forward to the first week of school. It was wonderful to see so many smiling students, teachers and parents coming onto campus.... and to see the hustle and bustle in the hallways as friends reunited after a long summer break.

I want to extend a HUGE thank you to Ayumi Sardar and Carmora Kuo for their time and effort  to prepare the School Supply Sale at the Rumble. Not only are children prepared with supplies and uniforms, but we increased store sales that will directly benefit the school. I also want to thank Sarah Callahan Baker for coordinating the Volunteer Fair.  It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about PTO events and how to get involved in the classrooms. And finally, I want to give a BIG shout out to the PTO board and volunteers at the Rumble who helped set-up, clean-up, run check-out stations, man volunteer booths, and coordinate the food trucks. What a Rumble!

I encourage you to read through the forms in your 1st Day Packet and respond to the information related to the Student Directory, Friends and Family Campaign, Birthday Grams and Yearbook. You can visit the Mark Twain PTO website to print forms or complete them online.

Mark your calendars for the PTO meeting on Wednesday, September 10 at 8:00 am in the cafeteria. All parents are members of the PTO and we hope you will attend. Mrs. Patin will give a Principal's report on the latest school news and you will learn more about upcoming PTO events and plans for the school year.

Please feel free to reach out to me or any PTO board members with concerns or questions.

Have a wonderful short week of school!

Tony Houck
