Parents,

Originally Friday, April 18th was scheduled as HISD's Spring Holiday and also identified as a make-up day should the district be forced to close schools due to weather.  As you know, we have had to close schools twice this winter, so Mark Twain will be open for school on Friday, April 18th.

For some, April 18th is a day in which families come together for religious observance of Good Friday. The State allows families to decide to keep children out of school for some religious holidays without the penalty of an absence.

If your child will be out of school on Friday, April 18th because it is Good Friday, please send a letter as soon as possible to notify the school office that your child will be observing a religious holiday and will not attend school. The school administration will be able to remove the absence from your child's record if we have a letter identifying Friday as a day of religious observance for your family.

Absences on Monday for travel will not be excused.
For those attending school on Friday, April 18th, there will be no After-School program on that day.

Please plan to pick up your Twain Tiger
by 3:15 pm on April 18th.
