Dear Parents,

Today was quite a day. Only a few students remain and most of the staff has been sent home.

Your children, our children were wonderful today. They acted responsibly, followed the directions of the staff and were so patient as we went from a fire drill to evacuating to Pershing.

Our friends at Pershing took good care of us and HISD made sure everyone had lunch. The staff.... they were cool and calm, simply magnificent in the way they handled the situation.  My thanks to all of you for your help during the process, your patience and your flexibility.  From this experience we will learn and move forward.

The building is full of workers cleaning and replacing ceiling tiles, and airing out the upstairs.

Classes will resume tomorrow morning, Thursday 3/27/2014 under our normal schedule.  Mr. Bonn's and Ms. Dennis' classrooms need a little more airing out, so:

  • Students in Mr. Bonn's class need to report to Ms. Zirczy's classroom.
  • Students in Ms. Dennis' class need to report to Ms. Gee's classroom.

Have a good evening. We will see you in the morning.
Melissa Patin
