-Fall Sports at TEMS-
Believe it or not, it's not too early to begin thinking about fall
sports!  Fall meetings and practices begin very shortly after students return to
school.  All students are required to have PIAA Participation paperwork and ImPACT testing completed before participating in a school sport. Please visit our TEMS Athletics website for more information about our programs, includingall required permission forms for participation. Note that fall schedules will be updated throughout the summer. link

-Coming back to school next year?-
TEMS staff is looking ahead to the 2016/17 school year. It is anticipated that some of our current 5th, 6th & 7th grade students may be attending a new school in the fall. If your child will be attending another school, Withdrawal Form must be completed to update your student's status. This facilitates any request for school records from their new school.
Forms are available in the TEMS Main Office.

-From the Principal- null
T/E Middle School is undergoing significant construction and HVAC upgrades this summer.  The main entrance and office will remain open all summer, but the remainder of the building may not be accessible to students and parents until the middle of August.

-Important Medical Information From the Nurse  for 2016-2017 School Year...

Students entering 7th grade in September 2016

The Pennsylvania Department of health requires all children entering 7th grade to have the following:
-1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria , acellular pertussis  (Tdap) If 5 years has elapsed since last tetanus  immunization
-1 dose  meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV)

If the school nurse does not have documentation of your child receiving one or more of these immunizations, you will receive a notification letter in the fall.
Remember, this information is required before your child begins Grade 7 in September.

Medications-End of the Year Procedure-

Does your child have any medication in the nurse's office?
The District Medication Policy (School Board Policy 5143) prohibits students from carrying prescription or nonprescription medications to and from school. A parent or guardian must pick up any remaining medication from the nurse's office by the last student day. The policy specifies that any medications which remain after the last day of school must be destroyed.
NOTE: Epinephrine auto injectors, asthma medications and diabetic supplies may be sent home with your child with parent permission as per district medication policy.

The medication policy also requires that a new doctor's order be written each year in order for a child to receive prescription medications in school. A copy of the medication form can be downloaded from the district's web page, found under "Student Health Services"
Don't forget to stop at the Nurse's Office to pick up any remaining medications by Thursday June 16
Please visit the Student Health Services homepage for this information and more.
