Conferences Start This Week...
This week there will be:
-Half day on Tuesday, Nov 24, for Parent Conferences taking place 12:55-2:50pm.
-NO SCHOOL this Wednesday, Nov 25, for Thanksgiving break. 
-NO SCHOOL Monday, Nov 30, for conferences 1-8:35pm as well.

Thank You to Our Volunteers...
Thanks so much to everyone who provided baked goods and other food this past week. In honor of National Education Week, the hospitality committee set up breakfast on November 19 and 20 for our wonderful TEMS staff. If anyone is interested in helping out with this committee in the future, you can reach out to Barbara Schiff at barbara@schiffmarketing.com.

What's Happening Around the School...

-Math Night-
What a success! This was our 5th year having the event and it was our best turnout ever with 200 students attending! Many thanks to all the teachers who helped make this happen and to those families at TEMS who provided food items, they were all eaten! 



-Lost & Found-
The Lost & Found bin is overflowing! Please have your student visit the tables in the front entrance to see if he or she is missing an item or two! The tables will be there thru conferences so please check them as well when you visit school. All leftover items will be donated during break.

-Winter Sports-
Winter Sports tryouts have begun! Winter Sports Parents meeting Dec 7th 4:45pm in Large Gym. For schedule of tryouts and more link

-Attention 7th Grade Parents/Guardians-
The Pennsylvania Department of Health requires that all students entering Grade 7 have 1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria, accellular pertussis (Tdap) & 1 dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV). Families were notified at the end of last year if their child did not meet these new requirements. A second notification via letter was sent this past week to those families who have not responded. Please get this information in to your school nurse as soon as possible.

-TEMS Geo BEE-
Each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in National Geographic Bee. The contest is designed to motivate students to learn about the world and how it works. TEMS is one of those schools that participates. The TEMS school wide Geography Bee will be held on Wednesday, January 13. Interested students should see Mr. Krimsky in room 106 during their activity period for more information.

ARCH Offers Programs for Parents...
 
JUST TALK ABOUT IT
Thursday, December 10, 2015 (7-9pm)
ARCH, along with Conestoga High School, invites parents and teens to join Minding Your Mind in a discussion on mental health education.  Topics addressed will include anxiety, depression, self-harm, substance abuse, and the difference between positive and negative coping mechanisms.  All Conestoga juniors and seniors will attend this presentation in an assembly on December 10 during the school day.  The evening presentation is open to all parents.  Teens are encouraged to attend as well.  Link
 
PARENTING IN THE AGE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
Monday, December 14, 2015 (morning 9am and evening  7pm presentations)
ARCH invites parents to a Screening of Being13: Inside the Secret World of Teens, followed by strategies for navigating this topic with children; the digital citizenship curriculum in T/E and Q&A. Link

With Thanksgiving happening this week, that means holiday shopping will begin! Amazon.com has Black Friday sales online NOW as well as on Cyber Monday(Nov 30) for all your special electronics. T&E Care Holiday Drive...
Please help! This year the T&E Care holiday drive at TEMS  is collecting items to create Party Bags for people in our community.
You can return a full Birthday Bag or we have allocated items as follows:

Grades 5/6 - gift bags, cake pans (disposable), candles, napkins, cake mix, forks
 
Grade 7/8 - balloons, sprinkles, frosting, favors, plates, crepe streamers

Collection bin will be in front lobby Nov 16-24.

TEMS Bulldog Bash
Parent Social/Auction 
The TEMS Parent Social/Auction is being held Feb 20th, 2016 at the Hilltop House in Devon. This will be a fun night for parents and teachers to socialize and raise money for our students and school. There will be food from area restaurants and caterers as well as a silent auction. 

We are presently collecting auction items for this fun event! If you have sports tickets, a special service or an item you would like to donate, please let us know! If you would like to volunteer or have items to donate, please contact Kelly Walker at Kelwalk1@aol.com.
