5th Grade Math Night...
Want to learn different, fun and interactive ways to enjoy math at home with your 5th grader?  If so, then the 5th Grade Math Open House is for you!

When:  Thurs, November 12
Time:  5:30 - 7:30pm  
Place:  VFMS Cafeteria 

Light Refreshments will be served.
This is an open house event so please come by as your schedule allows. We look forward to seeing you there!
 
*Please note:  this is not a drop-off event and is intended for 5th grade students and their parent or guardians. No siblings please!

"Cello Fury" to Perform Live at Valley Forge Middle School
Friday, November 13th at 7:00pm

 
Presented by DELTA (Districts Educating and Learning Through The Arts)
 
A cello rock powerhouse featuring three cellists and a drummer, Cello Fury's original music combines the emotive and symphonic sounds of the cello with driving rock beats to create a cinematic, progressive rock sound. 

The Cello Fury show is brought to you by DELTA, the non-profit consortium of PTO Cultural Arts representatives from Tredyffrin/Easttown, Radnor, Great Valley, Lower Merion and Downingtown School Districts.  The incomparably high quality Cultural Arts programming that our children enjoy is made possible by the efforts of DELTA volunteers who work together to find programs and make them available to and affordable for our member schools.  Cello Fury will perform this full theatrical concert for our community following a nine school tour in T/E and Radnor where they will feature their shorter educational program tailored to student audiences. TEMS students will enjoy shows during school on Thursday afternoon, 11/12.  Just one of many quality programs brought to you by your TEMS PTO!

Come out and enjoy a great night of high quality family entertainment while also supporting DELTA's mission of supporting our children's learning through exposure to the Arts in all forms!

What's Happening Around the School...
-Directories were delivered last week in homeroom
If you did not order a copy, a limited supply is available in the School Store. $10 for 1 Directory, $15 for 2.

-Calling All LEGOS!
Do you have Legos that you no longer use? If so, please consider donating them to TEMS. We hope to begin a Legos Club in January 2016. All donations can be dropped off in the Main Office.


-2016-2017 School Year Calendar Approved-
At its October 26, 2015 meeting, the School Board approved the 2016-2017 school year calendar. Notable dates on the calendar include:
  • August 29, 2016: First day of school for grades 1-12
  • September 6, 2016: First day of school for kindergarten students
  • December 26-January 2, 2017: No school
  • April 10-14, 2017: No school
  • June 12, 2017: Tentative last day of school for students, half day, no kindergarten

T&E Care Holiday Drive...
This year the T&E Care holiday drive at TEMS  is collecting items to create Party Bags for people in our community.
You can return a full Birthday Bag or we have allocated items as follows:

Grades 5/6 - gift bags, cake pans (disposable), candles, napkins, cake mix, forks
 
Grade 7/8 - balloons, sprinkles, frosting, favors, plates, crepe streamers

Collection bin will be in front lobby Nov 16-24.

TEMS Bulldog Bash
Parent Social/Auction 
The TEMS Parent Social/Auction is being held Feb 20th, 2016 at the Hilltop House in Devon. This will be a fun night for parents and teachers to socialize and raise money for our students and school. There will be food from area restaurants and caterers as well as a silent auction. 

We are presently collecting auction items for this fun event! If you have sports tickets, a special service or an item you would like to donate, please let us know! If you would like to volunteer or have items to donate, please contact Kelly Walker at Kelwalk1@aol.com.
