Parent/Teacher/Counselor Meetings...

7:15-7:45 am in the Cafeteria

The Parent/teacher/Counselor meetings are an informal meet and greet gathering to share information about grade level news, activities, and curriculum.

Grade 5 on 10/20 at 7:15 AM in the cafeteria
Topics: 
  • Teacher and Counselor introductions
  • Teacher to discuss Homework and                           Assignment Books
  • Teacher will review the trip to Paradise Farms          Farms
  • Counselors will summarize the current clubs             and have permission forms on hand
Grade 6 on 10/22 at 7:15 AM in the cafeteria
Topics:
  • Transitioning to 6th grade, homework tips and Pinnacle
  • H.E.R.O. program
  • Progress reports
  • Supports in the school
Grade 7 on 10/29 at 7:15 AM in the cafeteria
Grade 8 10/28 at 7:15 AM in the cafeteria
 
These are not to be confused with the one-on-one Parent Teacher Conferences that are held in November. Information on scheduling conferences will be mailed home later this month.

What's Happening Around the School...

Citadel Heart of Learning Award 2015-
This award is given to the best teachers in Chester County each year Our own Mrs. Victoria Turner (Art) was recognized last year! If you know of a teacher that is dedicated to making a difference and has a positive impact on his/her students, please consider nominating them!
Nominations are being taken now at this link.

After School Sports for 5th/6th grade- 
Activities started on Wednesday, October 7th and run 2:35-3:10pm. 5th and 6th Grade After School Sports occur Mondays-Thursdays and may be canceled on any given day due to weather or field space. Announcements will be made in the morning and lunch to inform students of the status of After School Sorts each day. Students can sign up  or after school if they would like to participate.

After School Homework Tutoring Club-
This is structured time for independent work or help from a Conestoga tutor. This is not time to socialize. To attend the Tutoring Club, parents must sign the appropriate form available from a school counselor. Students must have transportation home at 3:45pm or permission from a parent to walk home.

Junior Model United Nations Club-
The Jr. Model United Nations club teaches students about international relations and global issues. This year's topics will be International Migration and Protecting Global Internet Rights.  The club is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Club meetings are held twice a month on Thursdays from 2:40pm to 3:40pm in Room 214. An Informational Meeting for students will be held on Thursday, October 15 in room 214.  A required Application Essay will be due by Monday, October 26.  For more information, please contact Muna Elshakhs at elshakhsm@tesd.net or Bill Bryant at bryantb@tesd.net.

The TEMS Parent Social/Auction is being held
Feb 20th, 2016 at the Hilltop House in Devon, PA. This will be a fun night for parents and teachers to socialize and raise money for our students and school. There will be food from area restaurants and caterers as well as a silent auction. 

We are presently collecting auction items for this fun event! If you have sports tickets, or a special service or item you would like to donate please let us know! If you would like to volunteer or have items to donate, please contact Kelly Walker at Kelwalk1@aol.comOur first meeting is Oct 15th, 9am at 409 Chester Rd, Devon. All are welcome that would like to help make this a successful event!
