What's Happening Around the School...

Reminder...2-Hour Delay tomorrow, Monday, Sept 28, due to Pope visit to the area. School will start at 9:50am.

Next TEMS PTO Blast will be Oct 11. It is now on a biweekly schedule.

Picture Day is this Tuesday, Sept 29th-
Picture order forms were mailed to the students' homes. Orders can be prepaid online link with access code: 01033.








Junior Model United Nations Club-
The Jr. Model United Nations club teaches students about international relations and global issues. This year's topics will be International Migration and Protecting Global Internet Rights.  The club is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Club meetings are held twice a month on Thursdays from 2:40pm to 3:40pm in Room 214. An Informational Meeting for students will be held on Thursday, October 15 in room 214.  A required Application Essay will be due by Monday, October 26.  For more information, please contact Muna Elshakhs at elshakhsm@tesd.net or Bill Bryant at bryantb@tesd.net.


Magazine Drive-
Our annual Magazine Drive continues. This is run by the Student Council and is the only fundraiser that we do as a school that will go directly to the students of our school.
You can renew/Order your sunscriptions by following the steps below:

  2. Click on "I'd like to shop & support a school/organization
Important collection dates for magazine drive:
-9/28:Collection Day #2
-10/5:  Final Collection Day

You can order ALL year! All proceeds go to our school!

-PINK DAY Oct 1-pink ribbon
TEMS Student Council will have its 12th annual PINK DAY Oct 1 but the week will be filled with several opportunities to recognize cancer awareness.
                             
All proceeds go to Ryan's Case for SMILES  
"A Case for Smiles...Helping Children feel special while they are battling life changing illnesses" www.caseforsmiles.org. 
Activities for the week will include:
 
-Wednesday, 9/30-Thursday 10/1*
PINK DAY t-shirts on sale:  $10 donation
 
-Thursday, 10/1:  PINK DAY!!!
* On sale BEFORE school outside the auditorium:
-  PINK DAY SHIRT-$10 donation
-  PINK RIBBONS-$1 donation
-  PINK STICKERS-$1 donation
(Honor someone who has battled or is currently battling cancer by wearing a PINK DAY sticker with their name on it)

-*WALL OF SMILES- last day*- $1 donation
On sale before school and at all lunches
- put a kind  message and your first name on a smile face.These will be hung in our hallways and then sent to kids in local hospitals battling cancer!

*Soft Pretzels and Pink lemonade will be on sale AFTER school by both exits and auditorium for a $ 1 donation.
