PJ Day this Thurs...
Ryan's Case for Smiles will distribute the one millionth pillowcase on Sept 17. This wonderful organization was started by a family in our district who lost their son Ryan to cancer.  You can check out www.caseforsmiles.orgTo help celebrate, TEMS is  participating in their National PJ Day on Sept 17. Kids are encouraged to
wear PJs to school in honor/support of kids in local hospitals currently battling cancer and other life threatening diseases.  We also will be putting together a WALL OF SMILES.  Students can give a donation of $1 or more and fill out a SMILE. The students can write a note on the back of a SMILE FACE to a child in the hospital. These notes will be included with the pillowcases that are sent to the kids.

From the Principal...

The Pennsylvania Youth Survey will be administered to students in 6th and 8th grades on Wednesday, Sept 30. This anonymous survey asks questions about violence, weapon usage, and substance use. Due to this content, the parents of the 6th grade students must give their consent in order for their children to participate. This week, a letter is being mailed home to the parents of 6th and 8th grade students with more detailed information about the survey. The District has participated in the PA Youth Survey for many years, and the information gleaned from it has influenced our educational program and curriculum planning. The results are shared with the community in order to identify strengths, areas of concern and strategies for improvement.  Parents may view the entire 2015 survey at T/E Middle School or at the PA Youth Survey website: www.pays.state.pa.us. If you have any questions once you receive the letter, please contact Assistant Principal Mrs. Kim Morris, at 610-240-1200.
